If Spider-Man were to become a regular police officer, he'd have a beat, and regulations to stick to. As a costumed vigilante he can fight crime on HIS terms which are a little more liberal than those of a police officer.

Can we get someone to review a Wolverine title that isnt so bias on the man? (Pete)

Other then that terrible issue of X-Force, I agree with the reviews. Skaar looks interesting and I'll pick it up...but if it ends up going in no direction after four issues I'll drop it. I mean if it's just going to be Planet Hulk part 2...then count me out. I need to start getting onto Invincible, I mean I read all of Kirkman's other works, so I might as well. Also, love it you reviewed The Goon, that is a title that is surely in need of a writer who can release new issues on time.

I'm so-so on X-Force and so not the biggest Wolverine fan in the world, but the first story in this one-shot is really good (except for Wolverine trying to quit smoking like it's detrimental to his health or something). The backup story was below average.

I thought Skaar was good, but the pacing was too fast. He's "born," then is leading a group of people two pages later? All of a sudden, he has an archvillain? A little more time to get to that point would have been nice.

I hate sons and daughters of character that add nothing to the story, and are used only to extend the length of a story. The planet blew up!!!! WTF now its fine?? uggh Marvel stop please.

I also wear children's large! That's why you're my homeboy Justin.
Atlantis Attacks was AWESOME! Go find it!
Alex and Pete, you're my homeboys too for sure, I just mean...

The 5th Element. Looked like garbage in the trailers, but is actually a great movie.

Don't worry Justin. Prince also buys his clothes in children's sizes.

Erik Larsen tried the whole superhero in uniform thing in Savage Dragon, and it actually worked and made sense, though he went through a lot of uniforms. I havent read that book since the 90's though so I have no idea if he continued, or if that ended early on.

Skaar is gonna be great. I'd guess he spends a year kicking ass on his planet then he comes looking for some payback on earth. I cant wait to see how this guy develops. As for this book, whats not to love? Steve Garney is an amazing artist, and Greg Pak is one of the really great young developing writers. The book sold out in 2 days too. I think he's the next big thing from Marvel.

Trinity #2 was even better than #1, and the preview of #3 looks even better. Great appearances by the JLA, and this new Hulk class character is great fun. Everyone should be reading this book.

We get it Alex, you have to point the show at homosexual and pedophile humor everytime, ha ha...a good freudian therapist could help you with those issues.

    • Jenni (guest) wrote in reply on June 16, 3:19 pm

...and we get it Bombardem you're a homophobe. Skip the therapist and just kill yourself.

    • Bombardem wrote in reply on June 16, 5:49 pm

On the contrary, I just find the constant fag and child sex jokes to be immature, and offensive. It's also always Alex who starts them whenever anyone tries to talk other than him. The only thing thats funny about it is that Alex is so obviously in the closet.

    • Andy (guest) wrote in reply on June 16, 5:58 pm

thats Ron Garney not Steve garney

    • Bombardem wrote in reply on June 16, 7:27 pm

      I always mix them up

    • 3xMonthly (guest) wrote on June 16, 6:31 pm

Alex's comment about JLA Weekly reminds me how much you never talk about how cool it is to have The Amazing Spider-Man coming out three times a month. Come on! :)

    • TheNextChampion (guest) wrote on June 16, 8:23 pm

Nothing will beat 52 in terms of a weekly comic. For some reasons the stars and planets were alligned that it made it work. Yes The Question and Black Adam are main characters, but as long as they are well written it didnt matter who the main heroes were.

Countdown suffered cause of bad editors and constant rewriting to make a story as a whole, doesnt make a whole lot of fucking sense. After reading the first trade again, it's clear to me that on the writers on issue 48 had a different intent on thr series then when they were on issue 20.

JLA could work as a series, but if Trinity is any indication...then major heroes arent the answer too. It's waaaaaayyy to early to say if Trinity is a failure or success. But right now I am already bored of it and the art is a very mixed bag for me. I love Bagley's run on Ultimate Spider-Man, but this art just doesnt seem to fit for DC heroes.

I would love to see another run with Morrison, Rucka, Johns, and Waid on a series book. Cause writers like Dini Palominti (Countdown) and Busiek (Trinity) *so far* cant seem to grapse a year long storyline.

    • CaptWasRight (guest) wrote on June 17, 12:32 pm

I totally disagree with super heroes putting on a uniform to fight crime. Face it, in reality regular cops don't spend their time fighting mystical dragons, technological aliens, or your occasional state of the art assasin. And if they do, they're undercover so technically they're in disguise. So don't listen to Tony Stark, hes got no family. Have our heroes put on a mask and save them the trouble of having to worry about their loved ones getting axed.

    • Uthor (guest) wrote in reply on June 17, 1:27 pm

The Ultimate Universe seemed to do okay (for a while, at least) with a government controlled Ultimates team and employing the services of the Fantastic Four.

I haven't been keeping up with it, but doesn't the Invincible universe also have government sponsored heros?

Hellboy and crew are a government run agency.

I think there's lots of big name titles that show that, yes, official government groups can take care of the threat AND be entertaining.

    • monkeyhole wrote on June 17, 3:21 pm

pete has become useless on the show. You can always know what pete is gonna say before he even says it . It's gotten to the point where its not even funny anymore

    • Bombardem wrote in reply on June 17, 8:39 pm

What, as opposed to Justin who just stand there and poses and flexes for the monitor? At least Pete has some enthusiasm one way or another for the medium, even if he lacks the vocabulary to express it properly.

    • Andy (guest) wrote in reply on June 18, 10:54 am

what about this show do you like Bombardem? You think Pete is stupid you hate Justin for "just standing there" and you find Alex offensive. What keeps you coming back?

    • Bombardem wrote in reply on June 18, 3:57 pm

I like watching car crashes too.

    • Andy (guest) wrote in reply on June 19, 2:12 pm

what is wrong with you? Why can't you just be cordial?

    • Steven J. Vasquez (guest) wrote on June 17, 8:12 pm

First off, Justin shops at Baby Gap!!!

I've gotta agree with Pete (Who, I think should be given his own vid talking about comic book violence called "Pete's Wisdom"). Skaar: Son Of Hulk was KILLER!!! It was a great read written by the incredible Greg Pak. World War Hulk was awesome, I look forward to see more issues. Ron Garney's work is better than ever. I love that it's colors over the pencils, sans inks. Looks impressive and this is yet another addition to my already overinflated pull-list.

      SON OF HULK SMASH!!!!!!!

    • Milo (guest) wrote on June 18, 2:24 am

      "Pete's Wisdom"

thats a good idea... can we see a pilot of that? or a special?? please... at least... some kind of... anwser... jejeje

a really cool comic from DC came out recently. it's called, "the war that time forgot". it is in issue number two, so you can probably still catch up on the story line. really great comic. worth the 2.99.

    • TheNextChampion (guest) wrote on June 18, 6:05 pm

So did we decide not to have a new episode today? First it's Review a Day now it's the Stack....you guys are losing it for some reason.

    • uthor (guest) wrote in reply on June 19, 12:48 am

There was one today at 5:30 pm...

Skaar: Son of Hulk #1, Invincible #50, and X-Force Special: Ain't No Dog #1

Up first it's the debut issue of Skaar: Son of Hulk. Pete thinks the issue was fantastic. Then it's Invincible #50. The guys like it, but feel like it was very predictable. Alex follows with a review of X Force Special: Ain't No Dog. Pete, our resident violence expert, thinks that this issue is really special. During the Speed Round we look at The Goon #25, Trinity #2, Fear Agent #21, Burn #2, and Sky Doll #2. Then during Viewer Mailbag Richard writes in asking if it's morally justified for superheros to lie about their secret identities. Be sure to watch and see what the guy's answers were!

Be sure to watch The Stack three times a week, and send your comments and questions to tips@pulpsecret.com!
