Guys, if you ever review a cartoon again review the Spectacular Spiderman. I am so amazed that his show is so good with its story.

    • stuffdaddy wrote on June 9, 5:13 pm

Yes, a great cartoon!! Best Marvel has ever done actually, because they finally got some of the WB guys who did DCAnimated..

Dudes! Come on, tie-in NEED to be reduced or events should have their own run outside of exicting series, but can be referred to with in other series. You can not cancel comics for the sake of a series, obviously you crazy nuts!

This is what is so good about Ultimate Marvel universe being so tight and interconnected, because events are always refferenced, they happen in mini-series and cross-overs are easy to follow and remember.

Well, I myself didn't really like the Fantastic Four series. The overall look just didn't appeal to me and the way the characters were portrayed struck me as annoying (especially HERBIE and Johnny). I appreciate the effort to stay closer to the source material, but overall, I just didn't like it.

    • AndrewT wrote on June 9, 12:30 pm

I agree that canceling all other comics would be good. It would really add some weight to the event.
But also, it's impossible, and I like to read other things too.

So you'll review a medicore FF series and not Secret Invasion on your opening act? That's the most fucking stupid thing I've ever heard. I dont even care what else you guys reviewed, big issue like SI and you just put it aside? Waste of time watching this episode.

    • Bombardem wrote on June 9, 3:02 pm

I dunno, they pretty much covered SI#3 as much as it needed to be. I completely agree, it was a 22 page comic with 5 pages of story. I felt really short changed. It seemed like Marvel wated to force fans into buying tie-in books this month if they wanted any real story. It was like " look, here's the Young Avengers getting their asses handed to them, better buy the regular book if you want to find out what happened!

The last time I read Eternals, some guy named Kirby was doing it. I'm looking forward to reading this.

I thought Trinity was a great set-up set-up for both halves of the book. This is a year long weekly event, it definitely deserves time to get going. I mean, c'mon people gave Countdown like 11 months to get started, before they realized it did indeed suck...I really enjoyed the Busiek story though, and the preview of #2 is out and looks awesome. Everyone should be reading this, it's gonna be great.

I never saw any of the FF cartoon episodes, but I heard it was terrible, so I didnt make any effort to see it. I have to agree with IEP, Spectacular Spider-Man is a really good cartoon. The episode I saw was well drawn, written, and faithful to the comic. I'll probably want to pick up that collection when it comes out. I'd have to see some of those FF episodes before I'd buy it. Your right about the Grimm brow. One of the things that really turned me off about the comic was how pronounced some artists would make it. He was always my favorite member of the team.

Some events lend themselves to tie-ins, some dont. But when there is some mega event like SI or Civil War, then all the regular titles have to participate somehow. Particularly big titles like Wolverine, and Amazing Spider-Man. Sure, if they weren't in the SI main book, they could rationalize ignoring it in their regular books, but they are HUGE participants, so it doenst make sense that they ignore it in their regular titles.

And to finish up, boy it would be nice if I could actually proofread what I just typed. The new layout sucks ass. So far I see no advantages to the switch-over to this new software, it's only worse in every way.

    • Andy (guest) wrote on June 9, 5:19 pm

I think the review of SI was fine in the speed round, I didn't even pick this issue up I just flipped through it at the store, really not missing much. Final Crisis 1 was FAR better than any of the main Secret Invasion stuff so far. I never thought I would actually say that.

    • Bombardem wrote on June 9, 8:16 pm

Okay, back down on the crak dosage...Final Crisis #1 was horrible, by any standard.

    • Andy (guest) wrote on June 9, 8:37 pm

I enjoyed Final Crisis #1,(granted I didn't read Countdown, so I don't have that bitter taste in my mouth) but I think its setting up a lot of cool stuff. And the first issue was FAR better than anything Bendis has done with Secret Invasion

And my crack addiction is no joke.

I only saw a few of episodes of that FF show and it was really stupid, I know its meant for kids but I'm pretty forgiving and i didnt like it at all. Maybe it got better.
Love the show guys but I wish you do a little more criticism and a little less bsing (that spiderman laptop was annoying)

I was planning on skipping Trinity because of the art, but I'll give the first issue's writing a shot based on y'all's recommendation.

      I agree with Oliver C.
That Laptop is as Dutch as the movie stars Famke Janssen a.k.a Jean Grey / Phoenix:X-men and Rutger Hauer a.k.a. Roy Batty:Blade Runner. :p

So I'm watching funny videos on CollegeHumor.com when i see Justin from the stack talking to a facebook quoting buddha. congrats justin, for being on two of my favorite sites.

    • Steven (guest) wrote on June 19, 9:29 pm

It's actually not German as Steven C also said. It's talking DUTCH. I should know, I am Dutch.

The sentence it's open with says:

      Dutch: "Ik ben spider-man"

      whioh is (of course)

      English: "I am Spider-Man"

      which would be

      German: "ICH BIN Spider-Man"

      You should know that.

John F. Kennedy once said "ICH BIN ein Berliner", remember?

Then again, he was clearly American. How can you be from Berlin and be the American president... ;)

    Eternals #1, Trinity#1, Captain Britain MI3 #2, and Fantastic Four Season 1

In this episode the guys check out Eternals #1 and Trinity #1. Alex loves the Eternals follow up to Neil Gaiman's series, but Pete disagrees. Then it's Captain Britain and The MI3 #2 and the complete first season DVD of the new Fantastic Four cartoon. The guys love the series and think that it ended too soon. During the Speed Round we look at Midnighter #20, Amazing Spiderman #561, Secret Invasion #3, Amory Wars Vol.2 #1, and Criminal (2nd series) #3. Finishing up Viewer Mailbag Jose on the forums asks if regular titles should be stopped during major releases like Secret Invasion and Final Crisis. Watch and see what the guys' answers were.

Be sure to watch The Stack three times a week, and send your comments and questions to tips@pulpsecret.com!
