Is Justin drunk? Something was seriously wrong with him this episode. Get that kid some help.

I had to lol at Pete talking about how great Tor was because it was black and white, meanwhile the green screen is showing it all in color.

There was definitely something going on with Justin, like he was having a stroke or snorted too many amyl-nitrates before the show, I thought so much blood was going to flow into his face that his head might explode at one point.

I wish you'd have shown the "boxes" you were talking about in GoG, because once again the green screen was showing completely normal pages, with no boxes, while Pete and Justin were ranting about boxes being everywhere.

I think Pretty Baby Machine has to be the worst title ever, but once you understand why its named that (Pretty Boy Floyd, Babyface Nelson, Machinegun Kelly) it's fine. It got really good revies on a number of sites. Crime comics ftw!

I cant wait to read Guardians, sorry that Pete is a child and cant read anything 'adult'. Although I am shocked Justin hated this, I mean you've been waiting for this for months! This will be a great addition to Nova, and I hope this stays consistant like Nova is.

Couldnt care less about Tor or Genext, nothing groundbreaking for me. I wish you spent more time on Scud, House of Mystery, and Omega the Unknown..that would've been a weird epsiode. As for merchandise, meh I could live without T-shirts and coffee mugs and hats and coats and pins and other advertisements....Yeah I can live without them.

Really? I like the merchandising of comics. I never really understood the whole Bust thing, they always look kinda creepy. My favorite merchandise are those Fathead life-size wall decals. I dont have any, but if I'd have had those on my wall as a kid I'd have been in heaven. They are all drawn by really good artists. They even have a life-size Hannah Montana!

Life-size Hanana Montana? ...Wow, that's creepy.

Did anyone else get the vibe that Justin was totally hung over for this episode? Next time try choking down a morning pint buddy, it takes the edge off it.

Oh, and an apartment carpeted in Witchblade busts sounds like a MOMA experimental art exhibit waiting to happen...

Wow! Justin, you left me hanging waiting for not one, but TWO "Triple Stack Pick 'em-ups!"

I picked up Guardians of the Galaxy and really really enjoyed it. I didn't think the dialogue boxes were that bad. I gotta agree with Alex on that I think it was a great first issue.

      ET TU, CAKEFACTORY?

    • proPetefromPortland (guest) wrote on May 15, 5:08 pm

Pete. I'm with you. Can't stands me the talking-head style of story telling. It's the old show vs. tell argument, the good stuff shows us what it's like, the bad stuff tells us what it's like. Also, The Order was as tasty as a Big Mac, which is to say it's not outstanding in any way. Stay strong angry brother!

Love the show guys. I thought Pete was his usual witty, urbane self. The coolest comic schwag I have seen in the past couple years are Mighty Muggs check out the link

Great episode, guys! Love watching your show online.

I do have a request for you, though. Is there any way that you could include the publisher of the titles that you cover in the Speed Rounds? I know that you include the links here on your site, but I don't always watch your video here and was just curious if you could include who the publisher is when you do the Speed Round.

      Thanks, guys!

Guardians of The Galaxy #1, Tor #1, GeNext #1, and Viewer Mailbag

Guardians of the Galaxy is a spin off of the Nova Galaxy and Annihilation Conquest. Pete's got issues with this one and Justin agrees. Alex says it's a great first issue.  Then we all agree on Tor #1. It's fun and Joe Kubert's art is top notch.  GeneXt #1 shows the grandchildren of the original X-Men and depicts them as actual kids. It's got a nice old school X-Men feel and brings in lots of old X-Men characters.  Then in the Speed Round we've got Gemini #1, House of Mystery #1, Batman: Death Mask #2, Scud #24 and Pretty Baby Machine #1.  In our viewer mail we talk about how important Superhero merchandise is to the comic book industry.

Be sure to catch The Stack three times a week at Pulpsecret.com!  Send you comments and questions to tips@pulpsecret.com
