      http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/8210/thunderboltstruedt3.png
Definitely the best surprise reveal ever. I was already a huge fan of the Thunderbolts, because I was reading Incredible Hulk when they first appeared, and then got their own series. I thought they were the coolest new super team ever, especially Citizen V. And Boom! they're evil!

    • Elijah (anon) wrote on March 3, 1:29 pm

Not to leapfrog off of Justin's Amazing Fantasy pick too heavily, but actually Amazing Spider-Man #32 has an incredible Oh My God moment when Peter realizes that Aunt May is sick, and probably dying, because she was given a transplant from Peter's radioactive blood a good number of issues back.

I know it's an old comic, but I actually just read this for the first time the other night, and I literally gasped out-loud in shock, and a bit of pain. This would probably be less shocking nowadays, but knowing where comics were at the time makes it quite a surprise--and even now it would be emotional.

    • Weker1 wrote on March 3, 1:50 pm

      So...Justin, What was Rasputin like?:-)
It's probley been asked but ,what are your(The Stack) thoughs on the Batman, Superman, X-Men , Spiderman and Justice League Animated series from the 90's(JLU was 00's but you get the point)?

*************spoiler alert in video*********** I haven't finished reading Y the last man. (luckily I plugged my ears and hummed UFCK YOU GUYS!!)

    • Scott (anon) wrote on March 3, 4:28 pm

What spoiler? I sat in on the taping and watched this episode more than once and don't remember hearing a YTLM spoiler. Where's the spoiler?

I'd say my OMG or Holy Crap moment would be Chapter 10 of From Hell by Alan Moore. Just the fact of the whole chapter of it showing the brutal killing of Ripper's last victum is truely horrifying and sickening. You can just have your skin crawl as you see him just dig his knife into the girl's leg and ripping it like it was leather or something...Ugh now I need a shower..>_< Good book btw lol

Good show as usual guys. But I didnt even know they were doing a Raven mini-series. I mean it looks okay, but I agree with Pete; it's something I wouldnt want to pick up. Plus, do we really need another damn Wolverine comic? There's like thousands of them, so why should I be so incline to pick this one up?

    • I Eat Planets (anon) wrote on March 3, 5:44 pm

Y the Last man 58 immediately comes to mind becuase I was at a library when I was reading it and I kinda yelled/cursed very loudly and got kicked out. But I think the mos breathtaking was in Watchmen when Adrian Veidt reveals that he had already set off the invasion. I think that was the first comic where I saw that the villain really did win

    • ChoRan (anon) wrote on March 5, 11:58 pm

Was he really the villian? Did he not prevent a nuclear world war? think about it.

    • Bombardem wrote on March 6, 12:18 am

Well thats the point of the whole story isnt it?

    • Clive wrote on March 3, 5:58 pm

It could be last months issue of Walking Dead where a main character was killed by a slow, slow decapitation.

Although the issue of Invincible where daddy goes bad could be the most OMG moment.

Good episode guys. I might pick up RASL sometime. I love Bone and had no idea that Jeff Smith was doing another book.

    • Bombardem wrote on March 3, 9:52 pm

Jack Kirby was notorious for OMG moments. Kamandi was one OMG after another, usually at least one per issue if not more. Just turning the pages led to OMG moments because of his spectacular 2 page splashes. You'd be reading away, flip the page and just be left dumbfounded by the reveal in these magnificent 2 page masterpieces. Even his covers were OMG moments, often using the most ludicrous tabloid headlines to get you to buy the books, though that practice was fairly common in the 60's. But if you were a Kirby fan you were raised on the OMG moment.

The statute of limitations for spoiling a comic event is 2 weeks, and the last issue of Y came out a month or more ago. If you havent read it all by now your not a real fan, so get over it. BTW Doomsday kills Superman, but he gets better.

    • lordcrotch (anon) wrote on March 4, 9:09 am

for me a relatively recent run with tons of OMG moments was Morrison's New X Men. right off the bat, genosha dies, magneto dies, secondary mutations, nano sentinels, cassandra nova as xavier, and the big reveal of xorn as magneto. i remember reading the xorn reveal and saying "get the f***! out of here." probably a bigger omg was when not even a year later they retconned most of it.

    • dirtywhitebrian wrote on March 4, 10:12 am

Seriously not cool spoiling Y. I also narrowly avoided the spoiler by humming "fuck pete in his stupid ass".

Reading trades does not mean you're not a true fan btw.

    • charles (anon) wrote on March 4, 10:17 am

I don't know how religious you guys are but why do you think that comics are so anti-religious these days ( a la wormwood and spawn). Does this mean that religious people like me shouldn't read comics anymore?

      Favorite recent OMG moment:
Last 2 pages of Kick Ass #1
**wont post spoiler since the "statute of limitations" isnt up on that one..***
      Favorite classic OMG moment:
Amazing Spider-Man #39 Green Goblin revealed to be Norman Osborne
Hope i didnt ruin that issue for anyone..

Pretty good review this week. But kinda vauge on the speed round review of RASL.
Wolverine in another book? I really hope hes a skrull....then they can retcon everything that they've done with the character since his 1st app.....and it would still make more sense than BND...

And i still love the subliminal message Pete gives out durring the other reviews......
Keep it up guys...great episode once again.

    • Rich (anon) wrote on March 6, 8:43 am

For what it's worth, the Wolverine appearing in BKV's 'Logan' series isn't his modern incarnation in *yet another* book. The first issue is set in World War II, and it looks like the whole series will be.

    • Apocrypha wrote on March 5, 11:11 am

Hey, Pete if you think the modern take on Batman ala Frank Millers All Star book is a little creepy with the little boy moments take a look at superdickery.com if you've never seen that site before. Some pretty funny/creepy stuff from the Batman books through the years. Just shows that this current stuff in the all star book has a history of creepy.

    • Bombardem wrote on March 5, 2:33 pm

There's a big difference between gold and silver age campiness, and changes in modern language that make words like boner and gay mean something different now, and the purposely creepy, and perverse, and cruel take that Miller has given the Batman in these books. Personally I think Miller is purposely abusing his fame, and carte blanche to damage the property, either out of maliciousness or because he's sick of writing it.

    • TheNextChampion (anon) wrote on March 5, 3:17 pm

I dont see much of a problem with All Star Batman. Is it over the top? Sure....Does it make Miller look like he's out of his fucking mind? That's a big yes.

But I like Miller's Batman recently. Maybe I'm the only one who liked The Dark Knight Strikes Back, but this version of Batman is the same as All Star. There's two versions of Batman for me; the depressing hero and the fucked up hero. What we see in Detective Comics and Batman titles right now is the brooding, I'm so lonely, kill me now type of character. While Frank Miller's Batman and some others like to go with the 'I dont give a fuck' type of madman attitude for Bruce.

There are tons of Batman comics, shows, and games out there right now. So if you dont like this one then pick up Morrison or Dini's run on him. But right now I'll laugh my ass off and enjoy a pretty bizarre comic. Plus wait for Miller's new Batman book: Holy Terror!, Batman. :)

Xorn was Magneto. Yea, didnt see that coming at all.

    • Superboy-Prime wrote on March 19, 1:29 am

Infinite Crisis #6 [i belivie] was also an OMG moment not just because of Superboy's death but because of the brutality of the death of a Superman family character. If you look closely his arm is ripped off and parts of his body are twisted and torn. Very De-glorifying for our young hero.

Comic Book Reviews: Logan #1, Raven #1, Cable #1 and Much More!

The Stack is now in HD! Welcome to the future of Pulp Secret. You can watch it in HD on AppleTV/iTunes on DailyMotion and at Blip.tv.

WARNING: Y THE LAST MAN SPOILERS IN THE MAILBAG SEGMENT

More Newsarama Sneak Reviews! We got an early look at Logan #1 written by Brian K. Vaughan. Lots of great stuff for Wolverine fans. Alex calls it a classic Wolverine story and very BKV. Definitely one to put on your pull list.

Raven #1 is another number one of a limited series we checked out this week. It goes deep into DC continuity, but it's a book that two thirds of us feel good about recommending.

On stands this week, Cable #1 is a Messiah Complex spin-off. Cable is traveling somewhere in time with an X-Baby trying to keep it safe from harm. It's a good book and well worth picking up.

Then, in the speed round we've got Jack of Fables #20 (fun and truly funny), RASL #1 (from Jeff Smith the creator of Bone), All Star Batman & Robin #9 (a book Pete calls creepy), X-Men Legacy #208 (highly...
