spam....
any one else find it odd that the names in the intro say: Alex, Justin and Pete but they sit in the opposite order?
*yawn* its time for a format change, seriously.
Wrong! Never change! The Stack rules!
I really enjoyed this episode. "That's what my dad always said, when he buried me in a hole" made me laugh much more than it should have.
Not a lot to comment about here, I agree with your opinions of the books that I read (Hulk 1, and Mighty Avengers 7).
I love the format of the show. Needs more Pete though.
Great episode guys! Alex you hit the nail on the head about the continuity deal with Mighty Avengers. I mean is all this Skrull stuff happening BEFORE World War Hulk?!?!?! It would have to right?
How bout telling us about those shirts on the blog or the forum? Why waste air time on something no one is going to buy on this site? Please for the love of god stop doing this product placement!!!
Bom is right too, this 8 minute format is just not working anymore. The reviews are just to quick and it just doesnt feel like you guys care on this show anymore. This show is especially too short since you do product placement...and a commerical? Gah!!
Heya, sorry you're not happy with the format... It's more that people are nice enough to send us stuff, so we're happy to promote 'em. Especially when it's well made t-shirts, and quality books like Persepolis.
And the reason for doing them in the show is, the show also goes out to YouTube, Newsarama, and a ton of other sites that don't check the blog and forum as often as you awesome dudes do.
Btw, I really don't want to promise anything I can't deliver, but regardless of all this, stay tuned, and you may get your wish.
Why, we may ALL get our wishes. Hurrah!
Seriously, though.
[Also, and finally, check out the audio recording of comic book club, that's an hour of audio with no ads, and only minor product placement.]
I like the twice a week, funny shows. They let us know if something is really worth reading.
Well its not that I wont quit going on this site. This and ign is the only place where I get my comic news and reviews. You guys are great, and its nice you guys devote yourselfs to do this....Considering this is not your only job in your life.
So far I know the me, Bom, and others are just tired of this format. Maybe you did it because of the other show left suddenly, and on paper two shows sounds great. But when a good third of an 6-8 minute show is devoted to ads or product placement...I'm sorry that is not qualified as a good show.
If this is the 15-18 minute program like it once was, I can understand an ad or two on the show. You sorta hinted it Alex and I, for one, would love to see it again. You'd be surprised on how much more audience you get if the show was alittle more in depth.
Just dont think that I dont like this show anymore, I do. I just feel that this show is sorta dipping down into being yet another medicore youtube show. Please please please try a 15-20 minute show again! It would be heaven if it goes back to that format.
Yeah, I have to say the show used to be innovative and clever. Now its just 3 more guys sitting at a table full of comics, and really not telling me anything I dont already know. Sure the banter is amusing, but it only goes so far. The speed round joke was old after the 2nd time, it feels like one of those bad SNL sketches they keep doing every week at this point. C'mon I know you guys are clever enough to come up with some new material.
And thats a Pulp Secret...
Wow! they Really see pissed stack guys! Idk... I like you guys so, obviously I'd like to see an 15 min show but I understand that "Rambo" pays the bills. Granted it's creepy when I'm watching the show, to see him out of the corner of my eye pulling back the string on his bow and arrow!!!.. Hahah I honestly dont care you guys are great! Please dont bring back comic book orange!!!
I like your guys show, but this episode was a snoozefest. Tell that good looking female from comic book orange I said hey.
Obvious choices for characters who've had their histories futzed with more than others are Supergirl, Hawkman, Power Girl (Atlantean? What?) and the big one, Donna Troy.
I mean, no one beats Donna. Originally created through a mix-up where the writer didn't know Wonder Girl was just Wonder Woman as a teen, given a well-thought out origin by Wolfman & Perez, which was written out of continuity by COIE and Byrne, reestablished again by Wolfman, which was then written ooc AGAIN with Zero Hour. Devin Grayson tried to make sense of it, to no avail, but that still didn't stop them from trying to explain it with IC and the Return of Donna Troy. Of course, then, the recent Wonder Woman reboot and her new origin in the WW annual messed with it even more.
I laughed out loud and I like the "three guys round a table talking about comics" format and yes, a few more minutes and a few less ads would be great, but life isnt a bowl of cherries, eh what?
