I liked the pet peeves topic, you could do a whole show on that alone. I've always felt when a comic is re-numbered, its a jumping OFF point, not on. I dropped a whole ton of titles when Marvel began this practice. If for no other reason than it made cataloging and boxing books more difficult. I liked those big numbers and it just seemed like they were renumbering many titles just to get the additional sales that a #1 always generates. It seems like your throwing away a legacy when you start over.

You talked about comic peeves. I wanted to mention my biggest peeve the was very evident this last week. The Big Ugly bar codes on the front of the comics!!! Annihilation Conquest had a beautiful painted cover and had the bar code on the back (covering an Ad). However, the 1/20 Silvestri variant of Uncanny X-men has a big white rectangular pimple on the front! They squished the logo of Astonishing X-men to fit the ugly thing on there. The UPCs were all on the backs of Civil War, but not World War Hulk. There are some comics I buy for the cover, especially variants. Why don't they put all the bar codes on the back? I wonder how the artists feel when a chunk of their art is covered up? If they have to be on the front, then why can't Marvel and DC's UPCs be as small as Image or IDW's? Please tell me I'm not alone on this.

P.S. Spot-on review of Astonishing. "To me my Stack guys!"

So the WGA Strike Won't Effect Comics?!?
      Allso Awsome Job!:)

    • alexstack wrote on November 12, 2:28 pm

Nope... WGA covers Film & Television. Interestingly, most animation is in a different guild, so your favorite animated programs should still go on uninterrupted. Also, comics.

    • Weker1 wrote on November 12, 8:10 pm

Cool Thanks, I hope Robot Chicken Count's as animated.

Rumor has it that there some comics books published by a company called DC.......

    • alexstack wrote on November 12, 11:45 pm

      Haven't heard of it.

    • Bombardem wrote on November 12, 11:45 pm

Countdown nullifies anything good DC may be publishing.

    • cubsmodano wrote on November 13, 2:20 am

Awesome, no DC books this week. This show keeps getting better and better!

I started a season pass for the show a couple weeks ago. Used to own a comic store, now computer programming to pay the bills. I'd love to see more content and less needling each other. It might be fun for you, but it was a bit tedious to view (actually, I didn't make it all the way through the astonishing episode, because the back and forth over big words drove me off).

    • Bombardem wrote on November 13, 9:37 pm

Well if your expecting comprehensive, no nonsense programming here, your lost. The iFanboy show is deeper, but not as comprehensive but the audi podcasts are more about current releases. Newsarama will tell you everything and then some, but they dont do any type of broadcasts (that I know of).BTW, whats a season pass? I didnt get that reference.

    • Hilander wrote on November 13, 10:45 pm

Oops, season pass ... I'm watching the show through Tivo, it's an automatic way for my Tivo to download each new episode for me.

    • BingeBoy wrote on November 13, 10:51 pm
