I love the fact the whole secret invasion is the work of Bendis secretly seeding the story.
Really would have liked to have heard more about the future of ultimate marvel and what is to come.
Something "out of this world" happening beyond Secret Invasion?
sniff-sniff...
...SECRET WARS III?!!?
They did touch on The Beyonder in New Avengers: The Illuminati (also a Bendis written book).
Hmmmmmm...
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT IS!!!
Well whatever the next big event is...it's gonna be hard to topple the last two! Heroes fighting with each other, and arresting each other....then you got an alien invasion that will most likely change some status quos.
Wasnt there a teaser image at NYCC? Some guy with glasses or something like that, cant remember the full image.
My guess is; Brubaker and Rucka will run the next huge event. Kick-Ass
Well somewhere near the mid-point The heroes in Secret Invasion are going to split into civil war like camps again. Some will want to fight, some will want to work with the skrulls (I think ). So any reveal about the next event following SI would obviously spoil the ending of SI.
I love that Marvel has their events set up all the way through 2010. That has to mean they think the events are so incredibly good that they ave to do them. Otherwise they would just say 'thats a good idea, put it on the list of possibles" .
Despite OMD I still think Quesada is the best EIC Marvel has had in decades. You can see he's not just a charismatic guy, but very personable, funny, and verbose. I dont think Marvel has had such an outgoing EIC since Stan Lee.
Joe Quesada is like a billion times better at selling his audience on stuff than Dan DiDio is.
Gotta' agree with Bombardem and pedxing on Joe Quesada. He's one of my artistic inspiations and his tenure at Marvel has yielded impressive results.
I first met Quesada at a signing in 92 or 93 when he was really just hitting it big as an artist, because Sword of Azrael was so cool, and a huge tie in of Knightfall that no one had ordered. He was promoting his X-O Manowar #0, which had the super duper metal cover. For the signing they had created a limited to 300 numbered 12x20 B&W litho, which was pre-sold the week before the signing. I bought several and had them mounted at a frame shop. When I handed them to Joe and Jimmy to sign they went nuts seeing how good they looked. Both of those guys were really fan friendly, and its amazing to see Quesada hasn't changed a bit despite 15 years in the spotlight.
I found JoeyQ very charsimatic at NYCC. He didn't have quite the size of a "secret service" team like Stan the Man, but, he brushed 'em aside as he signed every autograph or picture snapping that came his way. Seemed humble to some degree too. And still had this great thrill talking about comics.
That doesn't mean that I forgive the SOB for OMD.
