Up first is Captian America #38. The guys touch on how the issue touches on racism. Alex, Justin, and Alex give Ed Brubaker a big thumbs up for the compelling story. Next it's Wonder Woman #20. See why Pete has been enoying this title so much since Gail Simone took over. Then it's a Secret Invasion tie-in with Incredible Hercules #117. The guys love Greg Pak's work on the series so be sure to check it out! During the speed round the guys cover Death Grub #1, X-Men Origins Colossus #1, Green...

    • Comic Book Reviews: Spider-man With Great Power #1, Ultimate X-Men #90 and Daredevil #104

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, JANUARY 31 2008 10:38 AM | PERMALINK

First up is Issue #90 of Ultimate X-Men, which is setting up the end of the Robert Kirkman arc (which is ending with issue #93).

We're not too sure about the Mr. Fear plot line in Daredevil #104. Do we think there might be too many problems with this book? Watch the show and find out.

Spider-man WGP is set in the time after Peter Parker was bitten by the spider but before Uncle Ben dies. Basically, young Spider-man is out there acting irresponsibly. The guys are split on this book. Watch the show and find...

    • It's a Wonder-ful Woman

POSTED BY JUSTIN TYLER, NOVEMBER 27 2007 09:21 AM | PERMALINK

Project Rooftop just posted the results of their Redesign Wonder Woman contest and there are some great illustrations on display. Gail Simone does the introduction now that she is the queen of all things Wonder Woman. This one didn't win the grand prize but it certainly won my heart.

And I love Wonder Cowgirl! But that may be because I also used to have an invisible horse. Her name was Spirit.

    • The Comic-Movie Rundown

POSTED BY KENNETH ENGLAND, SEPTEMBER 25 2007 02:45 PM | PERMALINK

Been a while since I brought you fine readers some of the ever-ubiquitous comic-movie news, so I'm back with a sack full of D.C. (and indie) movie news to bring you today. How much news fits in a sack, you ask? Enough to keep you happy. Now, let's get to it.

Let's start with Wonder Woman, since it pleases me that the Katie Holmes-as-Diana rumor was just that... a rumor. Despite her resemblance to a young Linda Carter (I mean, compare the cheekbones...) something deep inside told me that casting wasn't...

    • JLA Movie Rumors Continue ...

POSTED BY KENNETH ENGLAND, AUGUST 27 2007 01:00 PM | PERMALINK

This week has been absolutely abuzz with D.C. comic-movie news, and today is no different. Following up on the JLA mo-cap/CGI story from earlier this week, IESB has done a little more digging on the situation and is now reporting that JLA will be a mix of CGI and live action, with the CGI being used to render the OMACS and the underwater scenes. Good news for those fans who were terrified of the prospects of a wholly CGI movie.

Also reported today is that Routh and Bale will not play Superman and...

    • JLA=CGI?

POSTED BY KENNETH ENGLAND, AUGUST 23 2007 03:00 PM | PERMALINK

Word on the street Thursday has it that the upcoming Justice League of America movie will not, in fact, be a live action movie. Rather, IESB is reporting on what sounds to be fairly reliable rumors that the movie will be a CGI/motion-capture affair. This could make for an interesting movie feel (I've actually always wanted "Kingdom Come" to be done in this manner on screen, so this is probably as close as I'm ever going to get) and would obviously make it easier to pull this movie and "Superman...

    • Justice League of America Beats Up Superman

POSTED BY KENNETH ENGLAND, AUGUST 18 2007 04:15 PM | PERMALINK

Well, sort of. Yesterday saw some infinitely interesting information come out regarding a massive hurry-up by the Warner studio of the Justice League of America movie, potentially pushing back or abandoning the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel sequel. Odds are, between those two options, this news only signals a push back of the Supes solo story, considering much work and money has already been pumped into the project. Officially, Warner Bros. contends that Man of Steel is still on track, which is all...
