    • New Avengers #42, Justice League of America #22 and Mighty Avengers #15

POSTED BY CHARLIE SCHNEIDER, JUNE 25 2008 11:57 AM | PERMALINK

Up first it's New Avengers #42.  The guys like the story about Spiderwoman's past, and Alex makes a funny reference to Metalocalypse.  Next it's Justice League of America #22.  The guys don't really like the Red Tornado story line, and think the issue is a little akward for a flagship DC title.  Then it's Mighty Avengers #15.  The guys love it and think you should pick it up.  During the Speed Round we look at Zorro #4, Guardians of The Galaxy #2, Wolf #1, and Black Belt Hamsters #4. ...

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, MAY 28 2008 10:54 AM | PERMALINK

Up first it's a review of Justice League of America #21. Alex draws attention to the special "Sightings" branding that this DC title got, and what it means. Next the guys it's Scalped #17. All the guys love this title, and Alex likens it to "The Sopranos" on a Native American reservation. Then it's a review of the return of Ed Brubaker and Greg Rucka to Marvel's Daredevil. In honor of the great Arthur C. Clarke's passing I thought I'd take a moment to pay homage to the man who influenced so many people. Most probably remember Clarke for his popular science fiction novels like 2001: A Space Oddysey, Childhood's End, and The Fountains of Paradise. What you may not know is that he came up with the idea for geosynchronos satellites. He was talking about communications satellites, but even in the comic book world people listened. That's why the Justice League's...

Sorry the episode's a little late, guys. I, the behind-the-scenes guy who posts the episodes, got the flu and it took a little longer to get the episode up. Don't fear, Wednesday's and Friday's episodes will be there same time as always. Thanks for watching!

The Last Defenders is a new Defenders series, with some of old characters in the New Jersey initiative team. Sisterhood #1 was passed...

    • Alex Ross' JLA #12 Cover

      POSTED BY , MAY 22 2007 06:35 PM | PERMALINK

Yowza yow. Here's a little peek at Art Deity Alex Ross' team lineup cover for JLA #12. It was posted on Brad Metzler's Myspace Page.

Check the awesome symmetry of Reddy's billowing cape on one side, and Hawkgirl's impressive wingspan on the other. Dude knows what he's doing.

The DC website displays the image below for JLA #12's cover, so I guess they'll be cutting it up for variants. TRAVESTY! Give us a trifold! Or a quadfold. Quatrafold?
