The Gladiator/Superman Connection
January 10, 2008
Sue me, I'm stretched for news today, but have you guys been watching the totally awesome reboot of American Gladiators? Show is f-in intense. And awesome. And fun.
Of the new Gladiators, one of my favorites is Titan, aka Mike O'Hearn, who looks like a real-life super-hero. HOW RIGHT I WAS! Turns out, I actually recognized O'Hearn from a previous appearance as Superman in "World's Finest," the follow up to the awesome short "Batman: Dead End." Check it out below: -
Talking TV
January 12, 2008
(Possible Spoiler) So Television, the first issue or Pilot. Is a ton-o-fun. It is kind of like watching TV with someone who keeps changing the channel. But it is the old TV, yup black and white. But don’t worry there is sound. This is a cool indie comic that has something for everyone, well maybe not everyone. But it is funny and only three bucks. So if you like a little Blacksploitation, suicide love, or Kato Kaelin. Check it out.

Dan Clowes, Michel Gondry, and Son
January 14, 2008
This is certainly a holy trinity, isn't it? Well, at least a holy duo, with one unknown, but totally cool quantity.
Here's the scoop, for those of you who can't parse what I'm talking about from the post title... Michel Gondry wrote a movie with his 16 year old son. Dan Clowes will be animating the film. Awesomeness will ensue. Dan Clowes elaborates:“It’s based on [Gondry’s son Paul’s] universe. He’s a sixteen year old. He’s very unique, very funny and very violent in his drawing and his art,...

Fan Offers Life to Dan DiDio
January 22, 2008
... in exchange for the life of the Martian Manhunter, who is rumored to be up for icing in Final Crisis. (How could you kill a man with such a dandy of a cane?) The proposal then tautly transitions into asking for the job of drawing said death.
"I can only ask that you also take me on to illustrate the traumatic series in which J'Onn J'Onzz will be killed. I propose this not only because of my preparedness and desire to draw comics again, but also to help relieve others from the possible...

The Order
January 27, 2008
(Spoiler) Hey who is tired of the same opening pages for 7 issues? That hasn’t gotten old. Bigger picture surrounded by little neatly organized boxes. But this comic is about more than the order of comic panels. That is right it is about Namor doing the coolest thing ever by holding the humans hostage as a huge tidal wave waits to crush everything. But then in this issue Namor goes back to being the bitch that he is, he is scared of living in the Sea and wants the humans protection. The only cool part...

Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys
February 20, 2008
Look it's Barbie's little sister Kelly and her friend Tommy creepily dressed as Batman and Catwoman at Toyfair! Kind of puts a weird spin on the fetish and pathos of the movie, right?
