    • New Avengers #42, Justice League of America #22 and Mighty Avengers #15

POSTED BY CHARLIE SCHNEIDER, JUNE 25 2008 11:57 AM | PERMALINK

Up first it's New Avengers #42.  The guys like the story about Spiderwoman's past, and Alex makes a funny reference to Metalocalypse.  Next it's Justice League of America #22.  The guys don't really like the Red Tornado story line, and think the issue is a little akward for a flagship DC title.  Then it's Mighty Avengers #15.  The guys love it and think you should pick it up.  During the Speed Round we look at Zorro #4, Guardians of The Galaxy #2, Wolf #1, and Black Belt Hamsters #4. ...

    • New Universal: SHOCKFRONT #1, Action Comics Annual #11, Wolverine: Amazing Immortal Man #1

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, MAY 12 2008 11:22 AM | PERMALINK

Starting off the week it's a review of New Universal Shockfront #1. See why the guys think this new title is so reader friendly and easy to pick up. Next up it's a review of the long-awaited Action Comics Annual #11 co-written by Superman director Richard Donner. Then it's a review of a brand new Wolverine title by David Lapham. The guys talk about the short story format of the new Wolverine title and why they can't get enough of it. Finishing up it's a super Speed Round and viewer mailbag. Don't...

    • Ms. Marvel #25, New Warriors #10 and New Avengers #39

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, MARCH 26 2008 11:26 AM | PERMALINK

We've got three Newsarama Reviews for you starting with Ms. Marvel #25, which deals with lots of Skrull stuff. But it tells the history using old-style comic artwork.

Then we check out New Warriors #10, where former mutants form a new super hero team. It's very similar to The Initiative, but we're not sure it's as good as The Initiative.

New Avengers #39, follows Echo and more of the Skrull story unfolds. We really enjoyed this book and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

    • Comic Book Reviews: Umbrella Academy 6, Countdown 11 and more

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, FEBRUARY 21 2008 01:16 PM | PERMALINK

Thanks to Erislaughs and Odouglasj on YouTube for letting us use clips from their videos!

We got another Newsarama Review from the floating head of Pete on the wrap up of the final Umbrella Academy. We thought this issue was well done and lived up to the hype. We give it 5 floating heads out of 5!

As for Countdown to Final Crisis, Pete's floating head wasn't too happy with the issue, but we heard from artist Jimmy Palmiotti that the series is going to end with a bang.

      Wrapping up with New Avengers...

We've got a handful of Newsarama Sneak Reviews. First up is Mighty Avengers #8, written by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley. Find out why the guys compare it to Dawson's Creek.

Then, we check out Avengers: The Initiative #9 by Dan Slott, which Justin compares to the Silmarillion because it's bringing in lots of elements from many other titles.

In the third Newsarama Sneak Review, we check out The New Avengers Annual #2. Nonstop action and a huge story make for a great book. Definitely worth picking...
