    • Comics! Ultimate Human #4, Countdown #1, New Avengers #40

POSTED BY ALEX ZALBEN, APRIL 28 2008 12:10 PM | PERMALINK

Pete's a big fan of Ultimate Human #4 but Justin's not having it and says there's a Duck Tales reference in there somewhere. Hmmmm.

Then, we've made it all the way to Countdown #1 and we've gotta say, we haven't really been bowled over by this series. It just didn't pan out and we didn't need 52 issues of this.

The Secret Invasion is on in New Avengers #40 with Bendis at the reins. We really enjoyed this issue, but we think putting this great story under the "New Avengers" title does this story a...

    • Terrance Howard Talks Iron Man

      POSTED BY , AUGUST 01 2007 03:00 PM | PERMALINK

The beauty of the “X-Men” and “Spider-Man” movie franchises was the fact that it made it desirable and attractive for big name, high talent actors and actresses to play our favorite comic characters. In a sense, those movies made it cool to be nerdy and brought comic books out of the basement and into the mainstream. This fact has opened the doors for the fantastic and talented casts that make up the upcoming “Hulk” and “Iron Man” movies. I certainly never expected to see an actor of the caliber...

    • Snyder+R Rating+Pirates= Best Superhero Movie?

      POSTED BY , JULY 30 2007 03:15 PM | PERMALINK

Yes, so we knew what the "Watchmen" movie casting was by the time of the big CCI announcement. However, there were still some interesting tidbits of information delivered by director Zack Snyder during his address to the audience at the convention. Most notable is the suggestion that the movie will be R, and not PG-13.

Also notable is that the studio wants the plot for "Watchmen" to be “contemporized” out of the Cold War, while Snyder feels the story has to take place in the 80's (sadly after...

On the toy side of the presentations, plans were revealed for new figures for "The Simpsons," "Lost," "24" and, "Adventure of Spawn" lines. Also revealed was a Dr. Suess line, a “Twisted X-Mas...

    • Marvel Opens Box. Geeks Explode.

Some sweet pictures started circulating from the floor of Comic Con with Favreau, Quesada, Downey Jr., and Stan Winston revealing the Iron Man Mach 1 armor from the movie.

The armor looks great, not as slick and polished as the red and yellow armor but looks bulky and mean nonetheless, with a really nice finish to it. One has to wonder how much screen time this suitt will even have, but considering the pomp and circumstance of revealing it, the thing must show up a bit in the movie.

      I...

    • Indiana Jones and the Youtube Clips

In an interesting, albeit somewhat uncomfortable, live video address to the Comic Con fans from the movie set, Spielberg gives the fans a little presentation to whet our appetites for the upcoming Indy IV film (and toys with us concerning the tagline to the movie.)

In the video, Spielberg introduces Ford, “sidekick” Winstone, Labeouf as well as a surprise at the end. The video is mostly them jawing about how great an experience the movie was and how great it’s going to be, but in the end this...

    • Pulp Secret - A Fandom Menace - Kevin Smith's Stormtrooper Security

      POSTED BY , MARCH 19 2007 12:07 PM | PERMALINK

Pulp Secret had a chance encounter with director Kevin Smith as he was leaving New York Comic Con 2007 for the day. His escort: an impromptu security detail consisting of costumed Stormtroopers, blinded by their fanboy mentality. The stormtroopers' misguided attempts to unofficiallly escort Kevin Smith are caught on tape.
