The Stack's 2007 Year in Comic Books takes a look back at the worst from the world of comics in 2007. Agree or disagree with our picks? Let us know in the comments!
Next week watch for FOUR more episodes of the stack - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This year is going to be exciting for me because I just started getting back into comics in the middle of this year. I love Fantastic Four comics, but absolutely can't enjoy the movies. I hope Daredevil gets better this year and can't wait to see how Umbrella Academy ends. I've never seen Heroes and thought it looked pretty crappy overall.
i sort of like Countdown. it is ok then very terrible at the same time. WONDER WOMAN WAS TERRIBLE AFTER PHIL JIMENEZ LEFT ! All Marvel Movies this year were terrible. but spiderman 3 was ok. next year DC movies will rock. i like that cap died it makes people seem more human that yes the most powerful can die. that hasnt happned since superman died. Heroes was ok. it could have been a lot better. SO MUCH ACTION I CAN HANDLE IT YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME !
Wanted to say thanks for the many laughs and tell you the show is great. I was wondering what you all thought about the direction Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are taking the series, also wanted to see what you thought about the character as a whole? Take care and have a great holiday.
I tell you what, when Heroes can pull off a musical number like this

Then I might give it a positive review.

Great Idea for these wrap up episodes. Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis blew this year so sad since Aquaman is a pretty neat character and one of DC's most recoginsables [sp?]. Maybe its just because Namor kicks his ass
yeah....countdown sucks. its too late. im with you, pete. 7 months, and it finally starts going SOMEWHERE? no, not gonna work for me. you forgot to mention the dark knight coming out next july! the most hotly anticipated movie in my house!
Nice list once again...and thanks guys very much for using me as the Wonder Woman quote! Very flattered and nice that finally a good opinion is being shown.......I'm an ass. lol No but great show, I agree with the list and you guys are right, there is a chance for most of these series to pick up in 2008. Countdown, no chance I just dont see how half a waste of a series can justifiy for a marginonally ok second half. Wonder Woman and Heroes does have a shot to be better again...hell I admit it Simone's first two isses has been pretty readable...but two issues cannot justify a looong time of shitty comics.
What Gives? Will someone give me one good reason why the second Heroes supposedly sucked? Granted the writers strike cut the season short, but what is you guy's problem. It doesn't fit the mold of what you want a "superhero" show to be so you think it sucks? The FX are great, the twists are great, the characters are great, WHAT THE HELL MORE DO YOU WANT? Some of you out there are way too damn critical of a show that every comic book fan should love. Get over yourself.
Lets see....hmm...oh I know I had a reason...umm...oh yeah, it was
BORING!

It's on tv man, you cant expect a giant superhero brawl every 5 minutes? you gotta go with whatever budget you have. It had some good twists and even if it didnt have the most original plots/rip-off plots, at least you got to see them played out.

Get Dennis Leary to write Heroes, then it might hold my interest...

I totally agree with Alex. I hated Heroes from the very first episode. It's still the only one I have bother to watch.
i agree that heroes was horrible this season, but the first season was gold. my biggest complaint (other than the aurora/northstar ripoff) is the lack of originality. linderman act=regstration act, shandi virus=legacy virus.
Heroes was the worst, easily. Especially the second season. It failed so miserably. I cant imagine anyone was entertained watching this dog.
Captain America? Are you kidding? Not only was the Death well done, but the book without a hero has been great too. The only way Rogers is getting resurrected is if Brubaker leaves the book.
Gotta agree with the movies, especially Ghostrider, and Fantastic Four. But you forgot about 300, best comicbook movie ever(okay maybe not the best, but great, just dont tell Frank). Countdown, probably merits a spot, but I'm sure there were worse things than Wonder Woman.
What's up guys, great show. I couldn't agree with you guys more. Heroes is miserable, and it's way too late for countdown. as Pete would say "It blows"
Yea...Heroes was a lot better than other series out there. Sure, it started out slow, and it got jagged thanks to the Writer's strike. I mean...compared to that annoying show called 'Big-Bang Theory', or the all-raved crapfest called Bionic Woman >_>...
Hmmm... I have mixed feeling about this list. Mainly because I agree that Countdown and Wonder Woman are on the rise and heading in a better direction (Can Gail Simone write a bad comic?) And I have actually been reading Captain America since Steve Roger's death to see how they would keep things going - and found it's a great read! My biggest disgreement is with Heroes being on the list. I enjoy the HECK out of that show and when you look at the crapfest that's currently on TV, I certainly feel that this show gets a lot more slagging than it deserves. Save your hate for shows like 'American Dad' or 'According to Jim'! (And where was All-Star Batman and Robin!? I know at least ONE issue came out this year... best comic I ever dropped.)
