Pulp Secret Report
20 Reasons to Wear Spandex

RetroCrush has written their list of The 20 Coolest Superhero Costumes. It's a pretty good list with everyone from Space Ghost to Golden Age Sandman included. You might notice the absence of females, and that is due to the fact that they are compiling a separate list of female costumes. I would have to say my favorite part of the list is when the author recounts when he dressed up as Spider-Man for career day in high school:
"True embarrassing confession time. When I was a high school junior at Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, they had a career dress-up day. You were supposed to come to school dressed in your ideal career. I decided to come to school dressed as Spider-Man. Of course, this wasn't a store-bought costume, but one I made myself. It was horrible, and I can't believe nobody beat me up. The sketch I drew above pretty much tells you the story about how horrible it looked. In order to achieve the "white eye" effect, I used an innovative approach of sliding index cards under the mask, allowing about 1/32" of space in the inside corner of each eye to see out of. How on earth did I even survive high school, anyway?"
Pretty funny, and I wish they had career day in my high school so I could've went as a superhero, but unlike him, I probably would've gotten my ass kicked. I like how they include all sorts of different superheroes, and not just the usual Marvel and DC suspects. I'm excited to see who they pick for their upcoming Coolest Female Costumes list, and maybe there'll be even more embarrassing high-school stories to boot!
