From "Creek" Queen to Amazon Princess?

Lots of rumors flying today that Katie Holmes will be playing Wonder Woman, but there are a lot of problems with this rumor that lead me to believe this is just internet nonsense. First off, all indicators point to this project being completely in limbo right now, Joss Whedon was removed as director and screenwriter long, long ago and hasn't been replaced. And that was the FIFTH rewrite of the script since 2003. From the sounds of what Whedon has been saying, the studio had no idea what they wanted anyway. This one seems so far in limbo I’d be surprised to have a legitimate casting call. How can you cast when you can't even settle on a script over a four year period?

On top of that, the rumor comes circulated by way of the tabloid Star magazine, and I'm not ready to take comic-book movie news from the Star. Sorry, I'm just not. Perhaps it is just my negativity talking, I would rather not see a Wonder Woman project shape up at all and was hoping it was dead. It's a corny, dated character (at least it will be on screen, mark my words) that tends to be cool in groups (such as Justice League of America) but really doesn't thrill me solo, even with her recent "I'm-kinda-on-par-with-Superman" power level revamp.

If this does all end up happening I'll have to find some clever way to recant my words here, but for now, I'm putting this one in the "myth" pile until I hear more substantial releases.

I would rather see the movie not get made if she is being considered for the lead. Its probably a rumor anyway.

She's way too short to play WW, but I guess you can fix that with camera effects and perspective. The fact that her face is very reminiscent of a young Linda Carter is really the only thing she has going for her when it comes to this role.
