Remembering Mike Wieringo

The comic-book world was at a loss last week with the loss of Mike Wieringo to a heart attack at the young age of 44.
Wieringo was best known for his penciling work on flagship titles such as "The Flash," "Fantastic Four," "Superman," and "Spider-Man." He is also well remembered for creating his own magical pirate title, "Tellos" under the Image imprint, and the Gorilla Comics branch of Image co-founded by Wieringo.
The quality of his work is evidenced by the outpouring of emotion following his death in the comic-book community. He will be well remembered for his clean and playful art style as well as his passion and involvement in the community, often communicating and interacting with fans on message boards.
The Baltimore Comic-Con will give tribute to the beloved artist at their convention on September 8th and 9th, commemorating his life and his contributions to the world of comics.
