One Can Never Get Enough Ash
There has arguably never been a character as cool and beloved in the geek universe as Ash from the seminal horror franchise “Evil Dead.” Now, such geeks have a reason to rejoice as Ash will see print again in a six-issue miniseries in November titled “Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash,” as revealed in an announcement at WWC on Sunday.
Having recently seen print in the recent, quirky-yet-fun “Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness” comic run, Ash is back on the forefront of geek culture again. This time, obviously enough from the title, he will be fighting Freddy and Jason of 1980s bad-horror-movie fame. The treatment is based on a movie of the same name which was cancelled, and now adapted to graphic novel format.
Appeal of Freddy and Jason seems rather limited now (probably why the movie was canned) but with Ash just as popular as ever, the character that made Bruce Campbell the geek god he is will be the real draw here. The book will come from the Wildstorm imprint, with the first two issues hitting the shelves in November.
