Marvel Reports Revenue Upswing, Future Projects

POSTED BY Kenneth England, 08 August 2007

Marvel has released the numbers for their revenue in the 2007 Second Quarter, and news is good for the once-bankrupt publisher who has thankfully seen an upswing in their fortunes over the last couple of years.

Net income for the company was up 78% from last year and growth was reported for all of its operating divisions. Spider-Man 3 merchandising was quoted as the big winner, but the print comic lines also made growth.

Also listed in the report were future movie and show plans, with reports that the Ant-Man movie has a writer/director in place. The Captain America, Nick Fury, Thor and Avengers movie were credited to have a writer on the project.

On the animated television show front, Spider-Man, Wolverine and the X-Men and Iron Man shows are in development. A Teen Avengers and a Hulk DVD animated features are also in the works.

Also reported as in development is the straight-from-my-nightmares Spider-Man: The Musical… the project everyone in their right minds is hoping gets stopped immediately.

Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Avengers, Thor, Marvel comics, Ant-Man
