Baby on Board the Fantasticar?
Marvel’s had a pretty damned good success rate in transferring their prized properties over into movie form, with the obvious exception of the turgid "Fantastic Four" movies. While there were a couple other bad Marvel movies that suffered from bad direction or poor execution, the FF movie franchise just felt like an exploitative cash grab to me. Now Jessica Alba is talking about where she’d like the writers to take her character for the third movie. Just kill me now so I won’t have to see it.
Then again, maybe if we let Alba pen the script, we’d have a decent movie to see. In a recent interview with MTV she professed a desire to have her character give birth to Franklin in this movie, which would have exciting implications. Not only would there be the stupendous amount of power the kid has to do neat things with on screen, you could tie him directly to some of the coolest confrontations in the Fantastic Four’s comic history, from the Negative Zone and Annihilus (one of my all time personal favorite villains) to Mephisto down in Hell. A Negative Zone / Annihilus based movie plot could be amazing.... if they don't completely screw it up.
One thing is for sure: if we get one more Marvel movie that includes a scene where the heroes dance around, I’m traveling to the studios and hurting someone.

There actually making an FF3?! I thought Silver Surfer was going to be FF3? Why does Spiderman have to end [which it most likley will] and FF gets to continue?
I had fun watching FF2. I did not have fun watching SM3. FF2's title character, the Silver Surfer, was handled with dignity, and the core four actually took a step foward in character development, from the Thing's romance to Johnny's doubting himself, to Reed's willingness to commit to Sue. SM3's title character, Spider-man, was a vulnerable whiner who actually took a step backward by losing control of his love life and needing his arch foe to help him save the day. I don't like seeing a movie where at the end my life is better than the hero's, and that's how I felt with SM3. So, yes, give us another FF, and let's see Uncle Ben clobber some diaper rash, while SM slowly rests in peace. Or do you really want another helping of Topher as Venom?
I can just see Alba's lines during the delivery when Reed is telling her to breathe/push. "You breathe you bastard, if it was you giving birth at least you could stretch!"
I don't see neither Spiderman or Fantastic Four ending. They both make too much money. I hope they don't make Alba turn invisible during birth. :(
