Oooh, fun game. My brother borrowed three trades from a friend when I was 6 or 7 in the late 80s-- The Dark Phoenix Saga, The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told, and The Dark Knight Returns. I don't remember what order I read them in, but those are the first.

The first comic I ever BOUGHT was Web of Spider-Man #77 in 1991, which had Firebrand, Flash Thompson as Stilt-Man, a "Kill Crazed Morlock," and Cloak & Dagger (who promptly became my favorite characters).

The first comic I ever read may have actually been a book of old Popeye comic strips, or some old '70s Sgt Fury and horror and western comics (like Two Gun Kid and Jonah Hex) my dad had lying around -- but I remember nearly every panel of the first one I bought. Uncanny X-Men 179, where Kitty Pryde was forced to marry Caliban. What a comic book - to this day, I'll still pick up anything John Romita, Jr. draws.

I loved hearing what everyone's first comic was. But I especially loved Irina's answer: Lenin Goes to School. HAHA!! I so want to see that one.. I can't find anything via Google. Darn.

First comic book I ever read was an issue of Action Comics featuring Superman, Jax-Ur and the jeweled mountains of Krypton - I must've been five.

First comic book I remember reading was a Batman comic from the sixties with the Scarecrow on the cover holding Batman over a cliff. I still have it boxed and sealed in my basement.

oooh!ooh!oooh! Okay: the first comic book I ever read belonged to my best friend and involved Bat-Mite. But the fist comic book I read that actually spurred me into comic book madness was an early Marvel "graphic novel" (they don't still use that term, do they? I never liked it) called "The Aladdin Effect". It starred every major female character in the Marvel Universe and they all kicked ass! Now look what you've done. I was supposed to go to bed now I'm going to watch all these dang videos AND rifle through my old comics. Thanks a lot!

My first comic would have to be richie rich and little dot. Those were cheap and my parents picked them up for us kids. Then came Spider-Man, and I've never been the same since. :)

The first comic book I ever read was a Richie Rich... I borrowed it from a little boy down the street who also got me into grape Bubbalicious gum! I borrowed a few Richie Rich books from him but one day he moved away without notice and I couldn't return them :(
