That actually sounds horrible. As someone who can only drop pop culture references (poor ones done poorly I might add) I don't think she should play robin.
I read Dark Victory before Long Halloween, strangely, and found that it didn't wreck the story of Long Halloween. Both are great, really building on the mythos of the character. These two loeb/sale, and miller's year one, make an amazingly concise, in depth, and interesting early chronology for the character.
I think Ellen Page might be a good Spoiler, she was certainly a fine Kitty Pride and I think she would be ok as Spoiler, but if they do Robin it has to be Dick Grayson.
All this talk of the Jeph Loeb Tim Sale Batman really makes me want to reread Long Halloween. So I think I will.
It isnt as great as Long Halloween, but read together like it should be, this is a great Batman series.
Makes Two-Face a much better villian then he is today, and I think this is the start of Robin being pretty tolerable before Dini/Morrison started writing.
I just think Robin wouldnt work in today's Batman films. Your telling me that after fighting a gruesome battle with the Joker, the third movie is going to have him team up with a little boy? That would never fly with anyone, especially with the dark and depressing tone of the two films. He's fine in the cartoons, fine in the comics, but so far he is 0-2 in live action films.
Empire magazine offered up Ellen Page as a great possible Robin. I think it'd work really well.
