Cool Videos: The Adventures of Little Batman

POSTED BY Charlie Schneider, 07 June 2008

The Adventures of Little Batman is a short fan-film shot by Joe Valenti and stars mostly 5 and 6 year old kids. It's a definite must-see for kids and parents alike. As you can see it draws primarily on the Adam West/Burt Ward Batman series of the 1960s. There are currently three videos. I think this is great. Recently the complete video was honored at the Sundays in the City Film Festival in Tribeca. My younger brother and I used to dress up as Batman and Superman respectively, but I'm not sure our Dad's video camera was quite as good as Valenti's. Plus there was the terrible acting too. I don't recall having a great memory for scripted lines when I was 5. These kids seem to pull it off very well. Let us know what you think. Did you ever shoot superhero home movies when you were kids? Here are the videos: robin, The Joker, Adam West, Burt Ward, Joe Valenti, Little Batman, Sundays in the city, film festival

That mini-Batmobile is amazing! What little kid (or adult for that matter) wouldn't want to ride around in that? Wish I'd known about this one earlier; I wrote a book about fan films that's coming out late this summer, "Homemade Hollywood," and I definitely would've included this somewhere in it.
