Talking: Supernatural Rising son #1
Spoiler. OK so I don’t know about you, but when I read “Prequel to the hit CW TV series!” Across the cover of a comic, that does not sell me on a book. Nothing against CW. But I guess it is good to know that it is a prequel to a TV show. So That being said this is a good comic. I like the way it is drawn and I like the story. I think the guy needs to talk to his kids more about what is going on, that would make him a better parent. Plus, it would make things funnier. Hey son, see all those hot girls over there? Yeah that isn’t right, there is never that many hot girls in one place. They are Hell Whores. You see son, a lot of women are really nice, great people. But some are hell whores, now get Daddies shotgun. I should write for this comic. Has anyone else check this comic or TV show out? Thoughts? Or if you could write for any comic, what would it be?

Supernatural is a good TV show. I like to think of it as the successor to Kolchak: The Night Stalker with Darren McGavin. If they had made the father, Carl Kolchak's son, I think it would have drawn more initial viewers. On TV, the sons (Sam and Dean) are in their mid-20s and the father is dead. They are continuing the father's work of monster hunting. I look forward to checking out this prequel.
Hahaha. If you ever watch the show you'll understand why John Winchester is a bad parent in the comic. He is a horrible, horrible parent - which is actually a bit refreshing on the show. There is angst galore considering how he messed the kids up, especially Dean. Considering how the entire plot of the first season is based on him disappearing and not telling the boys his plans, it would be horribly out of character for him to do any loving "this is what's going on kids!" chats followed by a big hug. He's more of the "I will try to protect you so much and fail at it so hardcore that you will resent me forever" kind of dad. I'm glad to hear the comics are getting better. I hated the original ones when they first came out, so I guess I'll have to give them another try. The show itself is incredibly awesome at times, mindnumbingly horrible at others, and overall a good little horror show. I'd give it a shot if you're in the mood to get addicted to another X-files/Buffy successor.
