As we've mentioned before, there's way too much mail for us to answer in the shows, so we'll be answering some of it right here on the blog. As always, thanks for sending in your questions, and please keep shooting them over to tips@pulpsecret.com, call them in to 888-841-7549, or post a video response on YouTube!

My vote goes to whatever allows you to present the most diverse array of comics. I love your show, but find myself zoning out whenever you start talking about Marvel and DC too much. I don't read a lot of the big two's titles, so it's nice to see what's going on in the universes. But I really watch to find new creator-owned, independent titles, trades and graphic novels. Well, that and to laugh at your endless ridicule of each other (try not to be so mean to Pete). If a more edgy and eclectic mix of recommendations means fewer previews, I could care less. I do however like to watch you rip event comics and senseless crossovers to pieces, so please keep that up. There's a lot of really great stuff going on in comics. The only way we can let the industry know that we don't just want to see capes and tights is to have fans and reviewers put the spotlight on the wider spectrum. Then publishers, and maybe the greater public, will stop misreading the audience as a bunch of pony-tailed virgins living in their mothers' basements. I haven't lived in my mother's basement for almost a year now.
Thanks for the vote Tate, and a well thought out response. FYI, we all live in Pete's Mother's basement. Don't know if that changes anything.

I kind of brought this up in your Captain America post, but do you guys ever wish that comic books gave a little more time to build up anticipation during events? A lot of books or movies leave you waiting years until sequels to find out what happens next (I pointed out Harry Potter), while comics it's usually just a few months.
I think that's a little more out of necessity, than want. A book can take years to write. A movie can also take years to make, especially a big budget spectacular. Millar/Hitch books aside, most 32 page comics take a much shorter time to write and illustrate. This is ignoring, of course, the enormous pressure from fans and retailers to release comics on a regular monthly schedule. So that's why you get events playing out over months, rather than years. That being said, it makes the longer "events" all that more worthwhile. Infinite Crisis, though it didn't necessarily pan out, was built throughout the DC line for over two years! Y The Last Man, while technically not an event, was all that much sweeter and poignant, because it took its time, and ended when it wanted to. And look at Secret Invasion, going on at Marvel right now... That's been an event years in the making. Ironically, or perhaps because of that, fans don't seem quite as excited.

Okay. I caught this story on one of those national morning news shows right as I was waking up this morning, so I'm not entirely sure it actually happened. The story was about a "new" Capt. America and how he has a gun again. Was Pete really in this news story, or does he have an evil twin randomly showing up on early morning news programs? Also, the dude reporting this story ended with something along the lines of there being no super heroes who use guns. I thought of a few right away, but then I wasn't sure if they classify as "super heroes". Can you guys think of any? Thanks, and keep up the great show!
Nope, that was totally Pete on ABC News. He's a big star now. And there being no super heroes that use guns is completely inaccurate. There's USAgent, Jason Todd/Red Robin, The Punisher, and many more. They're usually the more human, Xtreme characters, but they're there.

Who would I date? Miss Misery, from Sleeper... but not for long I guess ;-)! She takes a lot out of a man (or is that a lot out on?).
Hey, no worries... Obscure ladies are the easiest to date, because they're not doing a whole lot most of the time. She would totally murderize you, though.
    Mike Requests:
In Jan 28th The Stack, you asked if you should review more DC stuff. Oh yah. I'm probably very minority here, but I haven't gotten into most Marvel stuff. Maybe Captain America sometimes. But really, I'm addicted to the DC/Vertigo titles. I'd love to see more information about these books: Hellblazer, Fables, 100 Bullets, Wonder Woman, Superman and Sup/Batman (although I'm dead tired of space alien stories). I also loved Lucifer, and that's left a void. I thought Carey's stories were great. Then I tried Crossing Midnight and it was same old same old. Only read 2 issues. I will try The Stranded based on your review...
Wha! Crossing Midnight is a great book (though, I will say, Justin and Pete aren't as crazy about it as I am). And no worries, we will be mixing it up a lot more.
