So no one should even attempt to creat another MMO as long as World of Warcraft is so successful? What the hell kind of business philosophy is that? Its funny, until WoW everyone proclaimed how amazing Everquest was with its 500,000 subscribers. It was unheard of. It was the most successful business model of its kind. Now we have WoW, with 10 million monthly subscribers and no one is even interested in a mere 500k.
None of the explanations given in the MTV article make any sense. This is just the tipical PR BS we get when they want to tell us what happened. All his excuses for not making an MMO have been answered several times by several other MMOS.
To me it sounds like the Marvel folks didnt know what they were getting themselves into and when they were in the thick of it they decided to back off. An MMO isn't one of those system games they can turn over in a year.
