Watchman in the Can

POSTED BY Justin Tyler, 20 February 2008

Zack Snyder, the director of the film adaptation of Watchmen, announced on his blog that principal photography is completed! The above Rorschach image is a little thank you to the dedicated fans. The film is set for a March 2009 release, about one year from now. Is the excitement building or what?

another year? is this because of the lawsuit or is it because they dont think they can compete with other releases?

It just takes that long to edit and promote

edit, promote and don't forget the FX shots. Those aren't included in principal photog. Dont forget that Doctor Manhattan will be a fully CGI character. And I'm sure that's going to take months to accomplish alone.

I only hope it's as good as The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

      Watchman (singular)? I assume that's a typo.

I lack confidence in this film getting right - but maybe we'll get the first decent adaptation of an Alan Moore story to the big screen?

My uncle is an extra in the movie and he says there still shooting. He was in the Rorschach jail hot oil scene as a jail guard, I nearly had a heart attack when he told me.
