As we've mentioned before, there's way too much mail for us to answer in the shows, so we'll be answering some of it right here on the blog. As always, thanks for sending in your questions, and please keep shooting them over to tips@pulpsecret.com, call them in to 888-841-7549, or post a video response on YouTube!
Clinton asks:
What happen to TEKNO COMIX's books, like Leonard Nimoy's PRIMORTALS?Tekno Comix, for those of you who don't know, was a company created by the same people who built the Sci Fi channel, and existed from approximately 1995-1997. They were kind of a prototype (in my opinion) for the Virgin Comics model, using big names (Neil Gaiman, Gene Robenberry, Leonard Nimoy) to sell the books. After 1997, they stopped publishing, including Primortals. However, the licenses are still owned by Hollywood Media Corp, and though there's no plans to revive the series... Who knows?
Ariel from Argentina:
I have a kind of question for you, about the way every artist draws Bruce Wayne very, very differently... It doesn't happen with other characters, but with Wayne, each time is like a different character. It's like they never put a standard of how it should be drawn, right?I think, absolutely right, Ariel. For most major license characters, there's a style guide on how to draw them. In particular, with characters like Mickey Mouse, or Bugs Bunny, every artist must draw them the same way, down to the centimeter. With comics, it's a little rougher, but there does usually seem to be a bit of consistency for, say, Superman or Wonder Woman. I think the problem with Bruce Wayne is, how old is he? He's old enough to have had three different wards, fought throughout several decades, and yet, his character is not have supposed to have aged. So maybe he's in his twenties, which seems silly and unbelievable. He could be in his forties or fifties, easily, but that's too old for the playboy he's supposed to be. So thirties, right? But again, that's too old, if he's not supposed to age. Additionally, how tall is he? Shorter than Superman and Wonder Woman, right? But still physically larger than most gangsters and villains? And is he super muscly, or is he a lean martial arts fighter? There's a million ways to draw him, as there's no way to pin down exactly what, and who he is.
Jay wonders:
I am pretty much only a Marvel guy, which exceptions of some Image titles. I feel as if I am missing out on so much in the DCU. I was just wondering if you guys could give me somewhere to start with your favorite DC trades that could help me get into DC.JSA! Both the original series, and the current one almost act like tours through the DCU, showing a million characters interacting with everybody, and are steeped in DCU history. Plus, they're good stories. So while they may be initially confusing, as they throw you right into the mix, they're also a great place to start.
James writes:
I believe a review of Doktor Sleepless was forthcoming before everyone started going nuts. Anywho, what is your opinion of the series in general?Doktor Sleepless is great. The first couple of issues were insane and all over the place, while the most recent issue shows that those were, for the most part, set-up, and now we're really starting to get into the story. I can't wait to see how it all pans out.
This next letter is for those of you who have been asking about online comics:

Zack wonders:
Which Green Lantern should they feature in the upcoming Justice League movie, Hal Jordan or John Stewart? Also who do you think should play the GL respective of which GL they choose?I actually really like the idea of Common playing John Stewart, and, with all things being equal, am totally fine with him being in the Justice League movie. Now, if it was a Green Lantern movie, I'd have to go with Hal Jordan, just because he has the clearest origin. Though, there might also be something to be said for changing Kyle Rayner's origin, so that he's the fresh young recruit brought into the Green Lantern Corps, looking up to Hal Jordan, the grizzled captain with the troubled past. Excuse me, I have to go write a fan script now.letters, page
