The Letters Page
As we've mentioned before, there's way too much mail for us to answer in the shows, so we'll be answering some of it right here on the blog. As always, thanks for sending in your questions, and please keep shooting them over to tips@pulpsecret.com, call them in to 888-841-7549, or post a video response on YouTube!
Pierres asks:
I'm wondering what do you think of the European comics that have been published in the USA. Americans seems to ignore them, even if some of those are considered to be masterpieces. I'm espacially thinking here about Moebius, Humanoids Publishing and Tintin.I'll be totally honest with you, I'm one of those Americans that ignores them. That being said, I have enjoyed some Tintin in my youth, and have felt like revisiting it now and again. Any European comics people want us to check out? Any opinions on the ones mentioned, Pulp-Heads?
Joseph wonders:
After four issues whould you say that Simon Dark is a solid buy?I would! To be honest, the series hasn't completely grabbed me, but I do appreciate the art, in particular. The use of, well, dark vs. light, is very interesting and evocative of the mood. The pace is a little slow for my tastes, so I may revisit the series in trades. But, I'm always a big fan of original characters, and fully support people checking the series out!
Alex wants to know:
What is your favorite batman graphic novel or story arc?Long Halloween is probably the best Batman story I've ever read (yup, that includes Year One and Dark Knight Returns). As a close second, I'd put Arkham Asylum: Living Hell; though, that's cheating a bit, as it's a Batman story with hardly any Batman in it at all.
Just to wrap things up today, we've got two entries in our Persepolis contest, which means they get a brand spanking new copy of the Complete Persepolis mailed to 'em! Bully!
Hello! My name is Lean, and am a rabid watcher of the show! This is a picy of me with Sam and Abby, from Borders. You see I don't live close to any comic bookstores but I do live 5 min away from Borders which has a comic book section... Yeah this is the best I can do guys, hope it works! Give me a chance! Can't wait till the next show!
