Mondays Are For Movies

POSTED BY Alex Zalben, 14 January 2008

Do you guys want to know a secret? Con Air is the best movie ever made. It has more Oscar winners battling on top of a fire truck than any movie since Victor/Victoria. TNT was playing it twice in a row last night, and let me tell you, I almost watched it twice in a row. Now, onto the purposefully comic book movie news:
    • Terrence Howard talks War Machine with Wizard. I really hope he sings "Smack that Mandarin Up" at some point in the movie, but it'll probably never happen. Sigh. (Via)
    • No more Hellboy for Guillermo Del Toro after this second one... Until the money gets good enough, I'd bet. (Via)
    • Maggie Gyllenhall talks Dark Knight with Metro. Interestingly, the article is actually titled "Talking Sexy Underwear." Oh, NOW you're gonna read it, huh? (Via)
    • LG to create tie-ins for Iron Man to promote technological awareness or something. (Via)
    • Rocketeer 2? Probably not, but we (and Billy Campbell) can hope... (Via)
    movie, update

Con Air WOULD be the greatest film of all time except for one thing. Nicholas Cage, the most wooden actor in the history of motion pictures...If you want a seriously fun film, check out Shoot 'em Up. I just now finished watching it on dvd, and am gonna have to go buy a copy now. This film makes Hard Boiled look tame.

Shoot'em up is Terrible. Not even good on the ridiculously bad level. It couldn't decide whether to be funny or cool, and so it was neither.
Are you really going to buy a copy??

I wanted to like it. my friend plays the pregnant girl in the beginning. But i'm not recommending it to anyone.

Snakes on a Plane is better.

i was also completely disapointed in shoot em up. im down for a mindless action romp, but it lacked any style of its own. see smoking aces instead.
