FF2 Movie News, Again, and Again...

For not particularly liking the first movie (though, to be honest, also not particularly hating it), I find myself unreasonably excited for FF2. So, herewith, a couple of little thoughts:
- Isn't Stan Lee the sweetest man in the world? I love how excited he gets talking about his cameo.
- One of my favorite movie sites, AintitCool.com, was nice enough to link up our story about Stan the Man, so thanks Moriarty!
- One of my other favorite sites, SuperHeroHype, also picked up the story. Thanks, random dude!
- We generally wait to report something until it's been confirmed by several sites/articles. However, one of the problems with the internet right now is, one site reports something, and everybody picks up the story, regardless of how true it is. And then it seems to filter up to the "legit" media, without any sort of fact checking. So yes, we got the news about the screening, and Galactus' look in the movie wrong, but we did wait until we heard from a number of different places before reporting ourselves. So you ready for something hilarious? Not to reveal us as the worst reporters in the world, but Laurence Fishburne will NOT be doing the voice of Galactus in FF2. He'll actually be doing the voice of the Silver Surfer. Also, Galactus will, in fact, be an energy cloud. Sigh.

This cracked me up. After seeing your story on the show I did some google searches for more info and I came uup with the same stories, particularly the one with the quote about how the film made him feel dirty. I'm glad its phony. The first FF film was nearly as horrible as the unreleased big budget film made in the 90s that you can get bootlegs of at comic conventions. After seeing the trailers of the current film I am holding onto hope that it will be much better than the first.
