Pulp Secret

Remember that teaser image of a Red Hulk, with the news that it was an arc written by Jeph Loeb, penciled by Ed McGuinness? Well, a few more details have emerged via
CBR:
- This isn't just an arc or a mini-series, this is the launch of an entirely new title, simply called "Hulk." The other ongoing, written by Greg Pak, is still titled "The Incredible Hulk."
- If you check out the cover image, you can see a big question mark where there should be a Bruce Banner. That's intentional... Speculation? I'd say Rick Jones turns into a second Hulk. I'd also say that if that's anything but misdirection, I'll be annoyed.
- So what's the title about? Sez Loeb: "This first ‘HULK' arc brings something new into the Hulk's stories -- a murder mystery as one of the oldest characters in Hulk's universe meets a grisly end. But who is responsible and then why is pretty dark." Can't wait to see Hulk snooping around with a magnifying glass and fingerprint powder. That's gonna be classic.
- And what about the supporting cast? Loeb again: "Iron Man, She-Hulk, Leonard Samson, and Thunderbolt Ross -- and a few surprises I don't want to give away right now."
Personally, I can understand having a second Hulk title, especially given how popular WWH has been. But do we really need a mystery title? From Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness? Starring the Hulk? Probably not... Remembering back to Bruce Jones run, which was essentially mystery based (albeit X-Files-ish), that started off really well, then went off the rails. Because, you know, the Hulk doesn't solve mysteries. He smashes them. What do you want out of a new, ongoing Hulk title? Do you want a second, red Hulk? Fill up our bandwidth with your reactions/predictions below. And head over to
CBR for the rest of the story.
