"Kingdom" Comes for Alex Ross

Alex Ross spills a couple tidbits to Wizard about his upcoming projects including his upcoming "Avengers/Invaders" series and the return of "Kingdom Come" Superman. He talks about the Invaders series that features Cap, Bucky, Sub-Mariner, Human Torch and Toro, and how he fooled all of Comicdom when an image was released a few months ago with a picture of Captain America featuring the word "Return" at the bottom, causing many to believe that the Cap was already on his way back from the afterlife. It's interesting how even though Ross is a comic legend, and has many, many friends in the comic industry, he didn't know Captain America was going to die before he did. No one told him, and when asked about it a few weeks before the Cap was shot, Ross was like "No, they're not gonna do that!"
I like that one of the reasons Ross liked the original JSA was because they had an older Superman as their leader, and that was one of the reasons he cites for bringing back Supes from the "Kingdom Come" universe, and even though Earth-2 Superman was recently revived in "Infinite Crisis" he still wanted the older Superman from "Kingdom Come," and found a way to bring him into the DC continunity: "we—he—should take the Kingdom Come Superman from that story, and then I immediately concocted a way in which we could do this. He’s taken from the middle of the story before the end of Kingdom Come when he’s still wearing the costume and everything." Who's the "he" Ross is referring to? People are assuming it is Starman, who Ross says is responsible for bringing KC Superman into our DC Universe. I believe "Kingdom Come" is one of the greatest limited series in DC, if not, comic history, and I have full faith in Alex Ross being able to weave multiple universes and still keep the characters and stories intact, so I for one, am I excited about what the future holds for the JSA.

I love Alex Ross, he creates so much energy with one panel. This style is great for Superman and I'm sure it will be effective for Captain America.
