Aunt May in this month’s Amazing Spider-Man. The poor woman has hovered on the edge of death so many times the past half century or so that usually we yawn. Will she die or won’t she?

Many of us here think she’ll go on and on and on. And that Peter will pull back from his mission of vengeance just before he actually takes a life.

Once again, been there, done that.

But if the recent administration at Marvel has proven anything it’s that the status quo is no longer written in stone. Characters have died. Identities have been revealed. And characters are going beyond anything they’ve done before.

And so it is VERY possible that Aunt May will die and Peter WILL take a life.

Just the fact that we’re having the discussion makes this a VERY exciting time to be reading comics.
