JLA=CGI?

    POSTED BY Kenneth England, 23 August 2007

    Word on the street Thursday has it that the upcoming Justice League of America movie will not, in fact, be a live action movie. Rather, IESB is reporting on what sounds to be fairly reliable rumors that the movie will be a CGI/motion-capture affair. This could make for an interesting movie feel (I've actually always wanted "Kingdom Come" to be done in this manner on screen, so this is probably as close as I'm ever going to get) and would obviously make it easier to pull this movie and "Superman 2" off simultaneously, production-wise.

    The production of this movie as a CGI/mo-cap affair also makes a lot more sense, given the choice of George Miller. Basically, even though this is officially a rumor right now, I'd be willing to wager my Jim Shooter signed copies of Harbinger that this is 100 percent true. The casting now makes sense, and the production schedule (and how that will fit into the other D.C. movies' production schedules) make sense.

    What do you guys think? Would this project wind up being better off, quality-wise, as a live-action or mo-cap movie?

      This sounds crazy, yet I remember having this feeling before. It was when they first leaked the Halle Berry Catwoman photo. It was so ridiculous that it had to be a hoax.
      Someone please send them the Beowolf teaser clip. Lets nip this at the bud.

      Maybe it's just the eternal optimist in me talking, but I'm actually more intrigued than frightened about a CGI JLA. As long as it has high production values and the CGI looks as good as it can, the potential is there.
