Ross to Bring Cap Back From the Dead?
Newsarama has an interview withe Alex Ross from Wizard World Chicago this past weekend, where a new image was unveiled of Captain America with the word "Return" on him. The image, painted by Alex Ross, has stirred up much talk about if Cap was going to be returning to the Marvel Universe sooner than expected. The new project that Ross is working on with Jim Krueger is an "in-continuity" project, no "What If?" or alternate earth story, but one that takes place in the 616. When asked what the "Return" really means, Ross answers:
"It could mean many things. It implies as much a return of Captain America, sure, as it also implies my return to Marvel – and maybe some other things. But I can tell you that my ego wasn’t fueling the design of that image…"
The date for the unnamed project has not yet been released, but I hope it doesn't come out for awhile, seeing as how they just killed Cap back in the spring. I love Ross' work, and we all knew that Cap was comin' back, so why not bring him back with a bang with Ross doing the art? I also wouldn't be surprised if Marvel had something else up their sleeves and that the "Return" on this image really doesn't mean the return of Captain America, but something else entirely. I suppose, like many things in the comic world, only time will tell.
Perhaps that is a new promotional sign for the Comic Book store on the Marvel island of adventure...for the returns counter. Or it could be the inside cover for a new hardcover book that going with a "Library-Only" release. Perhaps someone stupid just borrowed the uniform and put that note on it to remind him what to do with it when he was done. What ever it means, it looks like Cap is in hell, so maybe he wasn't such a boyscout after all? Ok..I'm out of snarky comments.

Well, that's a handy way to bring cap back: write stories about him in the 40's. When was the last time there was a good story about the Invaders?
It's obvious that though, yes this is technically a continuity comic, its going to be a history lesson not a "current" timeline book. Obviously this will be an Invaders history lesson since you can see Namor's and Bucky's arms on either side of Cap, and the Human Torch's flame behind him.
i really hope this brings back the good captain and not just turn hawkeye into him.Hawkeye rules and i love that he is back from the dead,but he doesn't have the principles cap had. cap come back and make it a good badass return!
