JLA Gets Director and.... Death?

Rumors abound today that the JLA movie that has been whispered about (and blabbed about in my column last week) has found a director. The word on the street is that George Miller, best known for directing “Mad Max” and “Happy Feet,” will be directing the Justice League movie. Hmm… from “Happy Feet” to “Justice League of America”… that’s a rather odd juxtaposition.
As odd as that transition may be for him, at least this is the guy who brought us “Mad Max” so that gives some hope (although it was so long ago let’s hope he remembers how to make an action movie.)
Even more surprising than this rumor, however, is the rumor that one of the characters in the movie will die. That is certainly a shocker, as no one expects to see a major death in the first chapter of a major revamp, so I’d be extremely surprised if the death (if it’s a legitimate rumor) is one of major importance.
This movie couldn’t get here fast enough. Out of all the comics movies coming down the pike, the only thing I’m more excited to see than the "Watchmen" adaptation is a live action Green Lantern with nice, cutting edge CGI.
