Huh? Who is Tom Welling's kid bro?

To the review, i know nothing about the wildstorm universe, but it sounds good from what you guys said up there.
"Let's hope it all works out for them" ;-)

Thank you so much for a great review of Wildstorm’s new storyline World’s End. It has been such an uphill battle for us fans to promote this story because so many people are still reeling from the reboot disaster that was Worldstorm back in 2006. This time though, the Wildstorm Universe is in more capable hands which have already proven themselves with on-time issues and a cohesive story that promises to be different AND permanent (something not always true in comics). Anyway, thanks again and look forward to more positive reviews as this event continues.

      Thanks for reading my question

First off, Wildstorm blows. Even Alan Moore couldnt make it work. These guys are the kings of late and awol books. "Hey lets relaunch again with a #1" is their company motto. I feel sorry for anyone who falls for this crap again.

I'm sure everyone would like to see a blog post showing all the contest winning comments. Seriously, was "a dog ate my zune" the best?

I dont know how you could recommend Cable Alex, this whole carrying around a baby while running around shooting guns at people thing is so ludicrous. The art is really horrible too. The pseudo oil paint style of olivetti just looks dumb, and the other 2 artists who worked on the book were total hacks. Bad from cover to cover.

Nice show today, as many have already said it's great to see Wildstorm spotlighted for doing something good. On a side note, screw Grant Morrison.

Thanks for mentioning two of my favorite, yet mostly unknown comics: Okko & The Killer. If you liked Okko:Cycle Of Earth #1, then you should pick up Okko:Cycle Of Water which sets up the characters and world very nicely. Also check out The Killer !-6 (now in hardcover I believe) to get the true depth and character of the Killer.

When is The Authority #1 coming out? I just googled it but all I could find was the old series. :/

    • grifter78 wrote on August 12, 8:35 am

Just wanted to let you (and anybody who would like to sponsor you guys) know that I really enjoy your show and take what you have to say to heart. Wildstorm has you to thank for that! The owner of the Comix Gallery in Wilmette let's me have back issues for free and I've come across some of the Authority comics which I mildly enjoyed, but I'm going to pick up #1 based on what I've heard from you. Thanks!

    • pgonzo98 wrote on August 12, 4:23 am

      the authority number 1
was excellent. i've never heard of this cat coleby before but loved his art. Abnett and lanning are really hitting their creative peak right now. everything they're writing is absolutely great. never have been a gEN 13 fan. gonna get at least the first couple of the storm watch book as i like leandro and have enjoyed the characters in the past.

sacred cow: remeber fantastic 4 two? Galactus as a cloud and nothing else? lame.. put'em in there!

    • rmoonyose wrote on August 13, 3:36 am

Sacred cows...yeah, sometimes a reimagining can work really well. I agree with Alex on the Spider-Man organic webshooters thing. For the movie it was good, for the comics it sucked hard. Having some stylistic differences between mediums can be okay as long as they serve the medium, but I think the fundamentals need to remain which is why the Spider-Man movies worked. The fundamentals were largelly untouched. Ditto with Ledger's Joker. In the most fundamental sense, that was the Joker we're all familiar with, but Ledger gave us all a new way to perceive the character.

    • rmoonyose wrote on August 13, 3:36 am

And ya know, I could have really used that Zune. Not the Zune so much as the money I would have made selling that shit on eBay.

    • Batchica wrote on August 13, 7:22 pm

      Thanks, grifter78!

    • grifter78 wrote on August 24, 11:05 am

      no problem :)

Okay, late to the party here, but just had to chime in and say that the Wildstorm World's End books are the best stuff I've read in quite a while. It's gripping storytelling, full of mad, brilliant touches, and it deserves a much bigger audience -- so if anybody is still on the fence about picking it up, please check it out. You can tell your kids you were on the wave when it rose to crest to a new high...
