You guys are great! I love the chaotic and random jokes you guys have. (Why can't you take your shirts off?)

I want a Zune because my best friends name is Brad. He's in the closet and it's frustrating hanging out with him because every girl i get involved with he has a negative comment about her. he has never even kissed a girl and we're 21. i'm a comic book nerd, but he is a super duper comic book nerd. he's the superman of nerds. I want a zune so i don't have to hang out with him anymore. while not hanging out with him i can listen to music or do various other things with a zune. you guys are my favorite internet show. you have actually even helped me move forward in my life by making me laugh through some shit. either way killer show, this episode ruled. the nipples hypnotized me.

The Stack's nemesis could be a video podcast by Grant Morrison, James Robinson, and Jeph Loeb where they critique comic book reviews...or possibly just do impressions of you guys and attempt to undermine your credibility. I think it'd be called The Binding, but I could be wrong.

    • TheNextChampion (guest) wrote on August 6, 1:50 pm

You guys do realise that Ifanboy is a much better site then yours right?

At least they listen to their users, they listen to complaints...and they actually do a much more in depth interview and reviews on titles. Just cause your 3 episodes a week doesnt mean your better.

Yeah I kinda gave up on this site...it's just gotten worse and worse as the episodes go on. Maybe in a few years it'll look much better then it does now.

Can't wait for the next run of Locke & Key. I like the iFanboy stuff, but Variant Edition fellates dead goats long into the night. I would like a hard copy of Lost Ones and a Zune because free stuff rocks and I need these things. Finally got me to create an account here with a contest. Now what else ya got around here...

    • Batchica wrote on August 6, 3:06 pm

I haven't read any of the Locke and Key comics, but you guys have convinced me with such great reviews of it: I'm going to look into the trade when it comes out. :)

I'd definatly want a Zune Player to have wherever I go,I always enjoyed watching The Stack on YouTube,I barely read comics anymore but with The Stack I keep in touch with the industry and posible comics that I might want to read, the only titles I'm actually reading currently is Ed Brubaker's run on Captain America and Mark Millar and John Romita's Kick-Ass..

plus I don't want Pete to hog on a Zune Player and brag about it on the shows anyway Keep Up The Good Work,I really want one before the anti matter devours us all
Also I have a Vlog on YouTube and discuss many topics in Pop Culture feel free to check it out whenever!

HI guys! Wanted to say HI to you in San Diego...but you were busy interviewing some guy in a vest and my wife was ready to go. ANYHOOO... Lord do I need a Zune thingie because 1) My finger hurts and it would be a great way to show me some sympathy. 2) The Zune logo is BAD ASS and no one but ME has recognized it. (Does that sound too cocky?)
      3) I teach a design class at the same college where Gary Panter and I think he would want me to have one. Even though I have never met him. Or bought any of his comics. BUt I did like his set design on Pee Wee's Playhouse. That was pretty cool.

I checked out that other site. Those guys are trying way too hard. I was bored for a while. I like a little levity with my comic talk; even if it gets a little out of control at times.

    • Moeez wrote on August 6, 5:52 pm

OMG the ending, that was priceless! The gauntlet has been thrown down, but we already know the victors :D

And yes, yes, make "Band of Brothers" into a comic, that would be awesome. Maybe following Hartsock and Matt Baker from the Brothers in Arms games, because the characters' stories in Band of Brothers is finished.

    • BrandonLeedy wrote on August 6, 6:13 pm

I would like to win a Zune because I'm a huge fan of Zune Arts and their efforts to showcase both musical and visual artists. I'm a design student (and comic fan) and you have no idea how cool it is to see a company who is willing to support art of all different styles from both old and new talent. Design and Music are what I'm about and having something like the Zune, that meshes them both would be awesome.

Not to mention, a Zune is about as cool as owning a jetpack... and jetpacks are sweet.

I mean, if you're gonna be someone's nemesis, you should really have something diabolical worked out. Instead, I'm just kinda flundering. I mean "destroy you"? What's that all about...I need to work up a battle plan...

Are you guys going to be at the Baltimore Convention in September?! It would be rad if you guys were there so I could say what's up and thank Alex in person for recommending Alpha Flight. I'm going to be there but there is one problem, well it's not really a "problem" problem. I live in North Carolina and my brother and I have decided to ride our bicycles there. It's about 320 miles and we've got 5 days off of work to do it. If I had a Zune "device" of some sort I'd be able to keep one ear tuned to the road and the other ear tuned to some sweet tunes all the while. With or without I'm going to make it, but "with" would be so much nicer. And when I pitch my tent at night, I'll be able to read a few pages of The Lost Ones to boot. Thanks! Sam

I dont know why you guys act like IFanboys are like competition who shouldnt be mentioned, etc. It's not like you are a tv show that airs at the same time, or that they are on a competitive network, because lets face it NNN is pretty sad. How weird is it that Pete is the one who acted maturely about the topic?

I couldnt agree with Pete more, why are you guys reviewing another cutesy childrens book like Franklin Richards? It's just a total swipe of calvin.

I dont know why you reviewd NYX either, none of you particularly liked it. Why review something you are all sorta meh about? Why not review something good? Review Criminal if you want to review something different. Review Final Crisis again, and make fun of Pete. You cant tell me with all the books that came out you couldnt find 3 you really liked, or hated.

      Great show guys.
I should get the Zune because I got one as a gift this past Xmas. It became the best little toy I've ever had. Sadly, about a month ago, my car was broken into while I was at work, and along with many other valuables that were near and dear to me, my Zune was stolen. Unfortunately, I won't be able to buy another one for a long time, and I doubt I will get another one next Xmas, because as you know, times are tough. You guys would be my heroes if you could reunite me with my beloved Zune. I had bought a whole bunch of accessories for it, which are sitting in my dresser looking all sad and lonely. Please, help me out! Either way, you guys rule, your show is great, and I cannot wait for the next episode.

It just makes the story much deeper with multiple artists using their creativity to share to the readers their views on the story. It would be cool if I could get the actual lost ones book.

A few reasons the stack guys/show is better than "the other guys"

      1. Stack guys read a ton of books they wouldnt normally specifically so they can review them for us, while the "other guys" only read what they like and would normally read therefore review the same titles every month.

      2. Stack guys are funny, all 3 of them. They arent afraid to make the stupid joke, or the disturbing one, while the "other guys" are not funny, pretty much at all.

      3. All three stack guys are kool, while 1 "other guy" is kool, 1 is tolerably, and 1 is a cocksmoker

Just wanted to defend you guys, I enjoy the show everytime, but damnit no more podcast delays!

i'm in my late twenties, scraping by in brooklyn with a shoddy job. my kid sister just turned 21 and is still supported by our parents. at least twice a year she'd get a new ipod because they would keep breaking or getting lost. as soon as the zune came out, she got a limited edition nylon magazine-themed one and wouldn't stop talking about how in love with it she was.

"i like my player," i'd say. it was a clunky non-intuitive chunk of plastic. a glorified memory stick. "it's cheap, so i don't care if it breaks. plus, it has a microphone feature." i showed her my documentation of subway buskers, but the recording sounded like a chorus of distant hairdryers.

one day my kid sister's zune was stolen, and our parents replaced it with the newer, smaller zune. it's pink. when the battery is low she announces she has to recharge her stick of gum. when my player's battery goes out, i have to get a new one, and not buy comics for a bit, to keep my finances afloat.

i know i'm a disgruntled man, but a zune would make me a dashing one, and i would also be respected as an older brother.

I've never admitted this to anyone outside of my circle of imaginary friends, but the reason I want a Zune: THE SMELL OF THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. No. effin. joke.

I have what some science-types call a "good-smelling paper fetish" -- which means that the glorious scent of certain printed materials give me a raging...happy thing. For serious.

And lemme tells ya -- I've bought 4 Zunes already JUST FOR THE SMELL OF THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. It smells like the underarm of the most beautiful angel. Mmmmmm. (I actually give the Zune machine-thingie part of the package away to orphanages and just keep the instruction manuals.) Unfortunately the smell of my previous 4 manuals has faded over the course of time and I need a fresh one. Hook me up, suckas!

Hey Boys - There's one reason why I need a Zune: Karma. Every iPod I've owned has met a tragic, unfortunate end. iPod 1G was left in the rain (not by me) and would only give me the Blue Screen of Death. iPod 2G was plugged into a 220V socket in Argentina and promptly baked from the inside out. iPod Nano was forgotten on a hill in San Francisco, California during what I can only assume was a drug induced lapse in awareness. iPod Touch lasted a good week, until it's shiny glass face made love to my extremely durable Spanish tile kitchen floor. I've gone without portable music for about a year, and while I do love to listen to the symphony of the city during my morning commute, an investment in a Zune would totally make my life a little more bearable.

      Please give me the Zune.

I promise my dog will not eat the Zune.

Fight Karma. F*ck iPod. Viva la Revolucion.

why i would love to win this contest part two.
i was an avid revision3 watcher, therefore would watch ifanboy. UNTIL i discovered the stack while seaching for more review shows (first i found a comicbook orange, and in turn found you guys) i watch review a day and am watching the stack more often than any other review show on the net.
the real reason i need a new zune is because a dog ate my old zune and he will not help with any sort of reimbursement, and now my friends dont seem to like that i brought up that it was not cool that a dog ate my zune and tore open my suitcase in the process.
anywho you guys are great, im keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm curious, and maybe you have covered this already and I just haven't found that episode yet, but if you could only read ONE current series being published, what would it be and why?

Keep up the great work, and thanks for a wonderful show.

NYX Vol. 2 #1, Locke and Key #6, and Franklin Richards: Son of A Genius

Up first we check out NYX Volume 2 #1. Then it's Locke and Key #6.  The guys love the series so far, and were really happy with the way this issue ends the current story line.  Be sure to watch for our San Diego Comic Con interview with Locke and Key's Artist and Writer Gabriel Rodriguez and Joe Hill.  Alex talks about how awesome they were in real life, and everyone is pumped that these guys will be on this title for the next two years.  Check it out!  Next is Franklin Richards: Son of A Genius Summer Smackdown #1.  Pete likens the art to Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes comic strip and Alex and Justin have great things to say about the story.  Don't miss it!

During the Speed Round we check out Black Panther #39, Ultimate Spider-Man #124, Northlanders #8, Catwoman #81, and Batman: Death Mask #4.  Then Bart writes in, "If you were a super hero who would be your nemesis?"  Be sure to watch and see what the guy's answers were!

Be sure to watch The Stack three times a week, and look...
