Finally you review Morrison's Batman!! It is weird that he isnt acting strange or crazy in any of his other comics...and no Miller's All Star Batman doesnt count. But this was a nice 'filler' issue to go into the RIP storyline. I hear a rumor that Jason Todd is taking over Batman's role...True? Not True? Please god tell me it's isnt true...

Alex you must be the only person who said pick up Ultimate X-Men right now...My god it has been terrible! Poorly written and paced, no sense of urgency and that damn Pheonix Recon angers me just as much as OMD did...Waste of a time picking up issues #75-93 as the whole Bishop, Cable, and Apocalpyse story is just a a unthrilling peice of turd. Kirkman is a great writer, but damnit this is one of the worst things he he wrote.

The idea of mixing writers together to make one series can work...52 was amazing, and for awhile it looked like this trend could work. But then Countdown showed that a whole year is too long and overtime the writers change their stories too much, making the comic overall a pain to follow. ASM has been good recently with Zeb Wells and Chris Bachalo but others like Dan Slott, Bob Gale, and Marc Guggenheim have not had good issues for BND. So it's probably a low batting average right now with this idea of writing team-ups. But it can be done if you have the right writers and editors on the team.

i disagree... Pete is not a Jerk... he just has his own opinions!

Ultimate x-men, woo! Come on, it isnt totally the same as mainstream x-men... and some stories need that similarity, im sure it will go back to off the wall soon!

P.S.- Glad Kirkman is leaving the book though!

To bad the Order got canceled, I was enjoying that book. there were so many plot lines they never wrapped up, and the ending was far to rushed. Team of writers can work, as long as they don't get pulled in too many directions.

I totally agree about Batman having Wolverine syndrome. I quit reading Batman a long time ago simply because there were like 6 to 10 titles where he was either the title character or at least a primary one and after Knightfall there was no continuity anymore. Wolverine has the same problem at the moment, but he works a little better so I am putting up with it for now. But its an annoying problem any time a character is overly popular.

I like the concept of comics by committee, in theory, but in practice its not really working on any of the titles that are doing it. ASM is reading just like it did when there were 3 titles. There is overall continuity in a big picture sense, but all 3 or 4 creative teams are making him fight different villains so it ends up being as disjointed as ever. I'd like things better if there was only one writer or one writing team directing as many artistic teams as it takes to maintain a weekly. This is definitely a concept thats evolving as it goes, so I think the jury is out. Trinity by DC will be another weekly team management concept.

Hulk #3 was awesome, I dont care what anyone says. I'm loving this new book. Next issue will be just like this one too, because its gonna be Green vs Red in a knockdown drag out no disqualifications cage match!

Writing by commitee on the surface seems a good idea. And it is. But, like everything else under the sun, it has it's virtues and it's vices. Among the virtues there is the factor of multiple creative voices imparting their creative juices into the story. Among the vices there is also the factor of too many cooks...etc...etc...

Whereas 52 proved that it could be done, Countdown just felt rushed and too forced. It didn't seem as though it was done to really flow into Final Crisis (which I'm looking forward to) moreso than it was done to capitalize on the success of 52. Plus there is the factor of the powers that be (publisher top brass) sticking their 2 cents in and either complementing the work with their views or hindering the work. I'm hoping that Trinity can do what Countdown couldn't seeing as how Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are the top 3 of my all time favorite characters.
Here's hoping that lessons were learned and better comics will be the result. And even moreso, better and better writing to come.

      And one other thing:
      Pete is not a jerk!
      LONG LIVE THE PETE!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure about by committee comics, but I think more and more people are realizing the upside of having one more mind in there, as we're seeing an upswing of comics with duos of authors, mostly pretty good: Incredible Hercules, Booster Gold, Avengers: Initiative, Nova, and Immortal Iron Fist (whose writers will soon move to Uncanny X-Men) just to name a few.

And speaking of X-Men... X-Force is the best X book out now? Really? I mean, I understand being taken in by New Mutants nostalgia when Magus was brought in (it got me too) but the book has not yet made clear what it's point is, and the Special Ops team don't yet strike me as needing to be any more secretive than other things that the X-Men as a unit have done in the past (Australian outback, anyone?). Personally, the book hasn't gelled with me yet at all, seems to just kinda be moving forward with little reason, but I'll give it time. I think Uncanny is poised to become insanely good with issue 500, though.

what are your guys' opinions on online comics such as zuda? i dont know if its been addressed on the show, but i think zuda is doing a pretty good job of the layout of comics online. my favorite title on there is high moon by david gallaher and steve ellis.

      Interesting comments from the fans.

I think the comittee of people writing books are a good idea, but they have to be executed well, like any other book. Also, I think the 'showrunner' that Alex is referring to used to be called, 'the editor' (at least in the terms Alex described them). Nowadays, who knows, everyone is on a book to book basis.

For the calls at the end, the guy who said that Marvel was gonnd go way back to make jesus a skrull, hysterical! Put that guy in charge at Marvel lol.
